New club captain, Coady, got injured in pre-season and only played his first game on Wednesday... but has been at every game doing what a good leader does - Maresca seems to have instilled a collective spirit and camaraderie in the squad which is quite tangible ... obviously winning helps ...
It is absolutely nuts that Leicester went down last year. We were bottom and in a total mess. It is no great achievement to get that squad to the top of the league. The achievement was in getting them relegated in the first place!
Can't help but agree ... and mainly down to Brendan Rodgers ego IMHO ... totally excluded Soyuncu and Vestergaard and persevered with Danny Ward between the sticks when there were 2 better keepers behind him ... kept playing a 'going through the motions" Tielemans (even made him captain) when it was quite obvious to the fan base that the guy was simply treading water awaiting a free move this summer
Every season now a relegated team wins the Championship at a canter. If it wasn't Leicester then it would have been Everton.
Could say the same about us tbh. The squad we had was definitely good enough to stay up just piss poor managerial decisions But anyway we’ve been over that many times. The squad we have now is easily top 3 in the league so just need Martin to figure out how to set us up to finish in the top 2 hopefully, playoffs minimum
So were Sunderland until today. When your season is bad and you need a result, who you gunna call, Southampton!
Birmingham have just sacked John Eustace. They are 6th. Rumour is it’s because they are bringing in Wayne Rooney….
