roll the reserves. kelleher trent konate quansah tsimikas Elliott endo gravenberch doak Jota Jones simple enough rest the players who put in a big shift. put a few minutes back into trent to get ready for Brighton put Jones at lw for an hour and launch nunez then
@saintKlopp .I { we} are enjoying your match thread. Time for senior citizens to take responsibilities .
Could be tough game this. Union are top of the league, 6 wins 1 draw 2 defeats. They did draw 1-1 with Toulouse in first game so a win here should open up a minimum 3-5 point gap over 3rd place already. Would expect a win at Anfield. Would expect similar rotation before Brighton game - worked out quite nicely as our first 2 games after europa are also against europa sides so not played a team who had any extra rest yet. Jones and Jota you’d think will 100% start given neither can play v Brighton. Think be big changes in midfield after the work szobo and mac out in along with Salah at weekend. Kelleher Taa Konate Gomez Tsimikas Gravenberch Endo Jones Elliott Jota Doak Give TAA 45/60 mins and rest up Salah Mac Szobo Diaz after the work they put in.
it's possible, it's also possible to put Elliott at cm and push Jones to lw. any way we cut it though, quansah should start. plenty of squad plus a good home crowd to push this over the line.
Could go Konate Quansah and rotate TAA and Gomez 45 mins each. Guess depends what klopp sees for Brighton and how much game times TAA Konate need to be fully fit.
Well I think we need to start getting our best team together after the international break and stop the mix which means trent, konate and nunez need to get back in gear. jones has just opened up a chance for a player to come in and grab his place now.
Why the **** are we having another international break when we'll have only played 7 games iac since the last one? 7 games in 4 weeks, mind - a cluster that only happens because of the breaks. Ten Hag was the latest in a long line of managers to complain about players being over-used - a situation which could be easily alleviated by getting rid of these bloody things. I realise some people follow them but I'm not nationalistic and frankly wouldn't care if they were abolished.
they are playing "nations league" in the summer which is a vtially important contest to not decide anything really so they can then interrupt the season with euro qualifiers which is of course vital to ensure lfc play on Saturday at 12:30 for some reason a pointless and rather boring international tournament called the nations league was invented to replace friendly games.but of course it didn't. you play the same side home and away in a game nobody is interested in to qualify for a final that might let you get one spot in the euros. everyone else goes right back to play 10 euro qualifiers anyway. it's utter nonsense to grab more games and have another set of finals. the top nations were having glamour friendlies in front of disinterested Arabs. the most important thing is lfc get to play at Saturday at 12:30.
would have anyway with the scenarios we have. appeal was just to keep attention up imo. it was never ever going to succeed
Chambers mixes with the seniors Given the landscape of the Liverpool squad, it would be a big surprise if Chambers were to start tonight’s match. That’s because the Reds have a clear hierarchy for these types of occasion at left-back. Kostas Tsimikas would be good enough to start for many Premier League teams, and deserves his run-outs whenever its possible. Unless the Greek is carrying a knock – and it’s worth noting that he appeared to train as normal yesterday – then he’ll start. That doesn’t mean that Chambers won’t get on the pitch, though. The 19-year-old was brought on against Leicester and has clearly been catching plenty of eyes in the youth teams. During the summer, it looked like this might earn him a loan move away from Anfield. Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen were said to be keen on him, and that would have been an eye-catching transfer. But in the end, Chambers stayed put. If he’s to make good on the talent that saw him called ‘outstanding’ out on-loan last year [Kilmarnock FC Twitter] though, he is going to need minutes. With Tsimikas and Andy Robertson in his way, that perhaps won’t happen at Liverpool. Nevertheless, Klopp is blatantly a fan, and these little stints in and around the senior squad will only do Chambers good. Jurgen Klopp calls 'outstanding' 19-year-old Liverpool prospect into first-team training before tonight's game (rousingthekop.com)
Chambers is a reasonably good LCB/LB. Klopp likes him and he's on the #list of baby reds. I would expect quansah first rather chambers tonight. Chambers might come on as a sub. I'd love to see that when we are are 3-0 up
I think he meant that Jones will start today's game, not that the ban will start today. But it's easy to read it the way you did - I did so myself at first. It's one of those occasions where the abbreviated grammar Bisc favours - and his aversion to pronouns and conjunctions etc - causes confusion. One reason why I argue that clarity is important.
