The only issue is that both edozie and sulemana both look uncomfortable on the right. Both sublime on the left.
I thought in the first half we were trying to get the ball to Sulemana all the time, yet the few decent attacks in that half came from our right. I can understand why RM switched Sulemana and Adarma in the second half, presumably to give Manning some cover, but thought he should have persevered with Sulemana on the left to see if he could coax a second yellow out of their right back. A shame we didn’t take either of the early chances in the second half, but it showed that if we get the ball forward quickly enough we will create chances. All in all a good 3 points and I can’t remember a time when I thought Stoke should have scored.
Can we just go back to two things. 1) Stoke fans booing Smallbone for playing for them last year but not now. 2) Stoke players taking the ball after we had kicked it out for their injury and playing on. Two incredibly embarrassing moments. Very glad I don’t have to associate with that.
Yeah I didn’t get the Smallbone thing? Did he piss them off by calling them mutants or something? Or did they want to sign him permanently but he turned them down?
Oh I forgot about that. Extremely poor sportsmanship to not give the ball back and proved what a ****ty club they are.
Not to mention the fact that he has battled depression, alopecia, and numerous serious injuries in his short career. The lad's a f*cking hero no matter what happens on the pitch.
Or judging some cup games where both teams are overtly defensive....how about a 90 minute penalty shootout instead of the match?
Couldn’t believe they didn’t give the ball back. Absolutely ridiculous lack of most basic sportsmanship. We did well to keep our cool, I was fuming!
Their fans were very divided on the Smallbone booing on the Oatcake board. A lot of them found it embarrassing, to be fair, but a fair few defended it. The reason, apparently, was he was **** for them last year- so it sounded like sour grapes.
