What is woeful though Is we have no forward outside of connolly and delap Its a long way till jan window... Sometimes you need a targetman and a poacher Delap is better used being able to run at defenders
No team could constantly keep that level of pressing for 90 mins. They allowed us back in to the game in the second quarter, to the point we were slightly on top and created a few chances. That second goal just before half time killed the game. More so their third goal plus with a mind on the weekend and current injury situation, we played last half hour with a centre back plus someone who hadn’t played for two months and was on his way out in central midfield.
I agree with all of that apart from suggesting Tufan is injury prone. Not sure he’s missed that many through injury while with us? It is a bit of an odd one that he had his thigh injury and then was injured in his first game back. At the time of his original injury, Rosie said he had a personal issue. I wonder if they are not telling us everything?
Rosie said earlier in the week, that he thought Tufan had tried to do to a bit too much to get fit again and had caused the injury to reoccur.
Go on about energy and the type of midfield as much as you want. We got schooled by a midfield with Sam Morsey and Luongo in it. Chaplin isn’t a really a midfielder more of a striker turned into a number 10. Our midfield should have the quality to be as good as their 3.
Except traore was so woeful he was hooked at half time and probably should have been before Seri was as slow as an oceanliner turning Then connolly had two attempts inside the box that ended up at normandy And everytime he touchef the ball He lost it Blooper reel on sale at christmas
“Those 600 Hull fans tonight made more noise in defeat than 2500 Leeds did in winning. Non stop at 3-0 down, fair play lads. Absolute bastard of a trip an all. #HCAFC #itfc “ https://twitter.com/tj_bloomfield/status/1709309487482384624?s=46&t=DAxwWj15XaMBwCrrY9gKFQ
Can't see Seri being benched until we have some back from the injury room; Allsop Christie Jones Greaves Vinagre Slater Morton Philogene Tufan Lokilo Delap All of a sudden having Connolly, Traore and Twine to bring off the bench looks quite exciting.
So should Blackburn, Sunderland, Southampton etc. You realise they've only lost once and still managed to score 3 don't you?
This is the key word though. With Slater out our main energy was coming from Morton and as much as I think he's a very good player he's not that type of player. Ipswich had energy all over the pitch which we couldn't match. As technically limited as he is Doc coming on at least fought that battle
Game against Millwall needs a response and I'll be shocked if there isn't one. Despite my criticisms of Rosenior, I don't think he or any manager would be happy with that performance and he will demand better. Likewise, the players looked frustrated. Regarding the team for Millwall, Coyle is not a left-back so long as I've got a hole in my arse. I actually think Coyle deserves to be starting ahead of Christie at right-back on Saturday as Christie was way off it but Greaves or Vinagre need to be starting at left-back, not Coyle. Traoré was poor against Ipswich as well so he should drop out. Delap is wasted wide-right and needs to be playing centrally either alongside Connolly in a front two or up top on his own.
