Even split usually about 20 a season home and away since the kids were born plus annual audio/video passes for the games I can't see, and non discounted home tix I shell out pal.

Whats your issue? You saying you're a better fan than me or something?

They move the ball much quicker than us, they have players making runs in every which way, and they very rarely play the ball back to the keeper. They also try the speculative defence cutting ball much more often, they probably attempted it more times in that game than we have done all season.

Was there a single instance tonight where they played the ball back from our half to their keeper?

There are similarities in the way both sides would look to keep the ball than just put it down the wings and hit speculative balls into the box, but they are far more positive and adventurous in their approach.

Ipswich head coach Kieran McKenna told BBC Radio Suffolk:

"From the first minute, tactically the players showed an outstanding understanding of the game and the execution was top notch - a night to be proud of.

"It's a great reinforcement for the players and supporters of the work we're doing but it's only one game, we've got to be ready for the next opponent.

"We had a lead to defend but we stayed on the front foot and at 2-0, we pushed and pushed for the third goal and we got that.

"We've had some high-scoring affairs here which have been exciting but it's nice to win a game with a bit more of a margin."

Hull boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside:

"We played a team who we gave the first goal to - it was a great strike but we have to deal with the initial ball better.

"They got in a flow and everything they tried, every flick and every backheel, was coming off and the basics of our game, simple passes going astray, meant it was one of those days for us.

"What's going to be interesting for me is to see how we respond on Saturday, because that is what the Championship is about - we have to take out medicine and make sure it doesn't happen again.

"It was a really technical game, a really tactical game - there were so many times it went up to Hirst, he set it up, they got wide and got a cross in the box; it was going up to our strikers and it wasn't sticking."

I don't disagree with any of this, but that's what stability over time brings to a club.

How is Liam saying ' we take the medicine' and 'they were better than us tonight' and ' we work on our response for sarurday' arrogant or naive unless that is your own preconceived bias?

I've listened to that interview and it's anything but - unless you have the knives out already.

To be fair he's pretty bang on. What was working for them wasn't working for us. When we tried to up the tempo we just lost it fairly quickly. I think some changes that needed to be made for a couple games got exposed.

What tonight shows is we need a LB and another Striker to round out the squad

Don't worry, no offence taken. You'll be sleeping it off soon and forget about in the morning anyway.

I’m still concerned that Christie still isn’t quite at it. Takes a age to find a pass and usually drops Alfie in it. Had numerous chances to advance up the pitch which he had done all last season but just meandered forward before checking back. If we had more full back options I’d give him a rest.

And some wide players, and an Ashbee replacement in midfield.

Basically, what we needed in the summer:

He was, he had a poor game tonight, but he got back into the side because he was playing well again.

But if dropping him means not playing Coyle at left back, I’m all for it.

We don’t need a defensive midfielder. That’s why we sent our only one on loan to a League 1 club. Are you in need of some educating?

I think you are. But Slater was a massive miss tonight, and I agree (always have) that we lack that kind of bite in the squad overall.

Just I'm not seeing that from Simons either.

I love this board, hope it never changes

The ongoing bickering between people what’s probably been going on years always cheers me up after a loss
