He didn't drop Slater. He's scored twice in the last 2 ffs and wasn't even in the squad. He's out with a hamstring. Stop criticising based on 'guessing'.
Well that sorts my question out of whether we were one of the best sides in the division. We are not. Anyway, fair play to Ipswich. They were excellent and played football properly in all areas of the pitch (except the last part of the game when they handed the ball over a bit too easily to us). I think the problem with the modern game (and our system) is that the object of the game is forgotten. Pass completion seems to have taken priority. Games are likely being over-analysed when a significant amount of football is instinct in the moment. Ipswich had that instinct and were rewarded for their bravery. I’m not too disheartened though. We’ve got a good chance of playoffs as I think we will get better. We 100% need to go back to playing Delap centrally though. If there’s one thing we can choose to learn from tonight, surely it is that he’s wasted on the wing.
connolly was dreadful, everything he did failed to come off absolutely shocking traore **** seri **** sometimes in football, you outclassed and that was it today i remember in a few of our promotion seasons, we've got hammered we move on sinik could be a good player hopefully
He would have still been the best player out there even with a hamstring injury! Seriously, thanks for that.
The one thing that centre backs hate is someone running quickly at them and as DD says above, the only one that we have that can do that is Delap... of course then you need someone who can bury the chances he creates..,.
Delap causes defences so many issues when played up top. He has great acceleration and creates a yard of space easily to get shots away. Connolly needs to go back to taking advantage of tiring legs. Not sure why the Twine hate is out and about again. Hit one good free kick, won a good free kick central. Played a clever corner to Delap to get a strike on goal. Otherwise kept the ball well. Far much more output than Traore.
Also, the other way round. If Connolly gets to the ball he can create a chance for Delap There's only a few players who excel at being a lone striker
Connolly should have laid an easy ball back to Philogene who could easily made it 2-1 at the start of the second. Greedy **** tried to hook it in himself
Maybe more so but they are better together There's plenty we can drop to enable them to both play central attack
Abridged and vernacular version, he spent week after week claiming we were lucky, our 'luck' continued and he ****ed off. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
