That’s a great little interview and the feeling is mutual:

After making his 100th appearance in Red and White during the Lads’ win over Sheffield Wednesday, Alex Pritchard has paid tribute to the support he’s received from the fanbase over the years.

“It’s been an incredible ride”, said Pritchard. “From the day I decided to join, it’s hard to imagine the journey we would go on to have.

“There has been some incredible moments on the pitch with Wembley being a standout highlight but my time here has meant so much.

“I’ve shared the dressing room with some brilliant players and characters and created memories to last a lifetime, but I can’t thank the supporters enough for the love they have given me.

“My love for football came burning back when I was playing in front of you all at the Stadium of Light and I always try to give the love back in my performances.”

One of my favourite players at the club. Always puts in 100%, has brilliant vision too.

Watching replays of Clarkes 1st goal against sheff weds, he is screaming at burstow to kick it out left to Clarke the second he received the ball

    Me too mate.

He isn't a 'glamorous' player so people don't want his name printed on their shirt ...

    ... I'd have his tattoo.

FFS, he's miles better than most Sunderland midfield players of the last 50 years.

Pritchard brings so much to the team. You see him during games talking to the young lads, urging them on, directing the way we play and move the ball - our manager on the pitch. You can't underestimate how much he does and what he brings to the team. I hope he gets an offer of another contact, say give him another year with the option of a second

He's done well since the transfer window closed. Looks a lot fitter than previously, which was the only issue anyone ever had with him. You can't have a first teamer blowing out of their arse after an hour every single game.

Id wait and see how this season goes before deciding on a contract or not, hes got 3 really exciting talents behind him at the minute so wait n see how they do before deciding to offer him a new deal or not

The guy has been an unreal signing for us and played a big part in where we are now, hes playing better this season than he did last imo

Lets see how he continues to perform over the next 3/4 months before any contract discussions

Hell of a good number 10. Really plays that role well. I actually said to someone on Friday night I think right now he is playing better for us than he probably ever has. Just my opinion of course, but it is as if the young lads are pushing him to play better and he is certainly a brilliant example to them.

His delivery is quite special at times. Would be interesting to know if he has studied the best to ever over a dead ball in David Beckham.

I have a rdv with Pritchard that he doesn't realise he has.

When Alex Neil took over from Johnson we played at Wimbledon and I helped a Sunderland supporter into the ground to the disabled section.

It worked out well, we had a perfect view as Pritchard curled in a sublime free kick, one of the few moments of quality in the entire game.

However our wild celebrations annoyed the locals and we were asked to leave the ground. I kicked off and the stewards realised it was better to move us into the Sunderland end.

When the game ended Pritchard came over and I, along with others, applauded which he clearly appreciated. Over my shoulder people were going crazy and insulting him. He saw them, shrugged and obviously couldn't understand the hatred.

I tried to let him know that some of us appreciated the obvious effort he'd put in despite the difficult circumstances, Johnson sacked.

To no avail, people around me were going berserk.

As we left the ground to make our way to the trains I had two young lads, of the angry brigade, start on me because I'd applauded the team at the end.
Ten years earlier I'd have turned and confronted them,

As it happens this is revenge enough.

Sunderland are fourth, playing superb football and Pritchard is a big part of it all ...

...if we reach the PL I'll take a moment to laugh at the two hard lads who wanted to take me on for daring to applaud a team that didn't beat Wimbledon.

    F**k you!

Like anyone else Ekwah will have to work hard in training to get his place back, Pritchard has the shirt at present on merit and doesn't deserve to lose his place imo.

Been a bloody great signing Pritch has.
Sees things around him very quick, lovely, consistent first touch and obviously good attitude. Doesn't seem to mind if he comes off the bench either, he's always straight into it and always seems to affect the game.

Think he really wants to be at SAFC and I would suggest he is playing and applying himself at the highest level since he arrived at the club - long may it continue!!!
