Didnt wolves have the same thing happen to them against you a couple of season ago at Anfield? Was that a conspiracy too? Asking for a friend. On the serious side VAR was rancid for the offside and we were lucky with that and the og. The first red was a red imho ... not intentional but went over the ball and caught him with his studs. The first yellow for jota was wrong but that often happens...but he was a moron. Ive said it when our players have done but he was simply stupid to do that 90 seconds later. As for Madison being in the refs ear you have had Henderson, Mane, Salah etc doing that for years. I'm glad were being a bit ****ty its about time instead of caving in to pressure. We got lucky today but I'll live with it. We will hit a rough patch cos we are only 7 games into a huge rebuild and total change of football philosophy but at least we're enjoying watching us after 4 yrs of turgid ****e. Enjoy whats left of your weekend
"Didnt wolves have the same thing happen to them against you a couple of season ago at Anfield?", Yeah, and a couple of seasons ago, as we're talking then, we went to Spurs and Kane committed a blatant straight-red offence twenty times more obvious than Jones today and got a ludicrous yellow, Jota had a nailed-on pen not given by Tierney because he 'stopped moving' before he was wiped out in the box, and Robbo was sent off for committing a foul not one-tenth as bad as Kane's. But as we're playing whataboutery with the other teams we've played, try out this for how you get the rub-of-the-green more often than not. https://www.skysports.com/football/...tottenham-vs-brighton-celtic-lucky-vs-rangers
The idea we get all the decisions against you is a joke mate. There are poor decisions to ALL teams. And by that nature someone benefits and today was a lucky one for us. Like I said imho opinion going over the ball and hitting a player studs first is a red card. I genuine do not see how that's a controversy. Jota was stupid to do his second foul 90 seconds after getting a yellow. I would and have said the same when spurs players have done the same. I have total sympathy about the disallowed goal BUT my question is not whataboutery tbh...were you complaining about biased decisions went it benefited you against wolves. We are all biased for our own teams so dont expectyou to be agreeing with me but the simple truth is that EVERY team gets ****ed over cos of bad laws or over complicated laws of the game and poor officiating.
the truth is now out. the var thought it was a goal and not waved offside in the first place but then let the game go without contacting the ref. he basically watched a perfectly good goal.be chalked off then didn't contact ref to set the record straight. that is a horrendous error compounded by lack of balls to fess up and fix it. it's quite simple. goal should be awarded and game was a draw. in some other sports that's enough for a replay to be called but I'm sure we don't really want to go back and play with 9 players to defend
The trouble is that there isn't a way to,solve this that is fair to both teams. A draw isn't fair on Spurs. The only way anywhere close to fair would be to add a point to Liverpool. Tbph as a neutral I'm a bit suspicious of the VAR decision. With the kind of money swilling around and the provenance of Citeh's owners I wouldn't rule out jiggery pokery. At the very least heads should roll. ( pun intended)
At the end of the day it is what it is. We take the L and move on. But fact of the matter is that I'm losing faith with football in its current state. There are so many other walks of life where repeated mistakes have consequences for the people that make those mistakes. Simply saying sorry isn't acceptable anymore when it happens as often as it does across the board, because we know that the cycle of further mistakes - that may benefit or **** us over - followed by empty apologies, will just continue.
We can all be very proud of the performance. Despite the defeat, it’s given me more confidence. But that does not take away from one of the disgraceful officiating I have ever seen. We rarely get the rub of the green but it’s been even worse since Klopp called out Tierney last season. There is statistical evidence to show that Liverpool get far less decisions compared to everyone else. We have been well and truly shafted. I hope we call out PGMOL. Take the fine
I know i'm in the minority but i wasn't surprised that Curtis was sent off as those sort of incidents result in reds in i would guess 75% of occasions. My beef ,like Donga, is the ref clearly saw it hence the yellow so not sure where the "clear & obvious" error is. I also always dislike the way the VAR team only send the ref the images that most support their position rather than all of them .
I'm sticking with **** it, games over we're playing well and I think this will be a really good season.
Don't like to be overly positive, but we do look quite good this season. We were bossing Tottenham until the red and then the offside call. Even with 10 men we were pretty even. Having said that, Tottenham won't win anything as per, so probably not the best to compare to. We are only 2 points off city though and had tougher fixtures
It cones to something when You give treams a goal headstart Go down to 10 men Go down to 9 men And it still isn't enough for them to give us a game, we've still got to help them out.
I was thinking this last night watching Klopp's post match interview. He was clearly frustrated as hell but couldn't say what he wanted to say. If I was in that position I think I'd just say it and take the hit - he can afford it. I know in one sense we should just take it on the chin and move on, but I think somehow the officials need to be called to account. It's not just us these things happen to, and for the good of the game this level of incompetence is just not acceptable.
Darren England has been replaced as a 4th Official for Forest v Brentford. Both VAR officials should be removed permanently and the ref demoted to the amateur leagues.
