What's the betting we don't get 7 minutes additional this game to try and complete turnaround A point will be well rescued though.
I think KMc got his starting 11 very wrong, Taylor should have started, Hutchinson should have started wide right and Williams should have started ahead of Clarke
Well earned draw, good subs too made a difference. Hutch, Williams, Luongo, Taylor all made the difference. Top of the league!
Positive result all things considered. Morsy evidently a big miss. Broadhead (who final score told me is our top scorer) also out. Both on top of Walton still being missing. With a squad that was L1 last season. And the table looks nice... for now
From what I watched: Respect to Darren Moore, he had worked out our weaknesses and gave us a tough game. We missed Morsy. Evans not a good replacement and has injury history. Clarke, for all his strengths and attacking play, is no match when the oppo suss him out. Williams clearly a better player especially defensively. And yet he came forward and scored a great well timed goal! Hladky made at least 5 terrific saves. Will Walton walk back in? Chappers perhaps had an off day. Hutch was on fire, what a player. Adds so much. Freddie misses a sitter again! All in all, a good away point against a team that knew our style, punted the ball up field, refused us control for 1st half, and pressed hard. KM will learn from this - he knows our defense is shipping goals. But would Walton bring back goalie control discipline and cohesion? And, not playing our best, we go top for a bit!
I couldn’t make this one so watched on TownTV. Alan Lee kept saying that a point would be a great result, and that speaks volumes about the last twenty years. We know we have a long way to go to play consistently as well as we did in the first half against Blackburn. I think we’d have probably all preferred Taylor and Williams, but there have been plenty of times that McKenna has made a different call to the one I’d have made and I have all the faith in the world in his decision making. Top of the table (for now)! We’ll take it and move on. As for Darren Moore. We know he’s a fantastic manager and a brilliant man. Sheffield Wednesday are idiots.
Forget about Leicester and let’s focus on our own progression. It’s a long season and it will be them and one other for the top two. Come March I’ll start to look out for the results of those around us if we’re still in the hunt for the autos.
We really missed Morsy and Broady yesterday and our midfield was under pressure until we got Taylor on for Evans, Clark was terrible and Williams must surely start in his place for the next match, Chaplin and Burns were inneffective and even Hutchinson was ordinary compared to his last two outings. Huddersfield started at a fast pace and seemed determined to put on a show for their first home match under new manager Moore and despite Hladkys heroics it was no surprise when they scored, but Town kept going through Taylor and Luongo battling and the chances came and went and i think most of us thought we wouldnt equalise until Williams headed us level. So all in all a disappointing game on a dreary wet Yorkshire day in a dreary wet Yorkshire town but a point gained and our learning curve continues.
I think surely Clarke has to make way for Williams. He’s overstayed his welcome by a handful of matches already.
Morsy should be back so thats a bonus but ive not heard an injury update on Broady but hopefully he will be fit to start, Clarke cant possibly start v Hull because teams are starting to target our right side knowing he will be out of position upfield or vulnerable against fast tricky wingers which led to Huddersfield scoring, williams has to start. Chaplin and Burns have to be more involved in the game and make a difference also Ladapo has to convert more of the chances which are made for him some of them relative tap ins, the days of just turning up and scoring goals for fun are over but this is what we wanted and we must make the step up to keep the optimism and enthusiasm about our Club bubbling.
