One of the first signings of the summer was 16yo Lewis Pirie from Aberdeen. He seems to be getting on well though as he has had a couple of outings for the U18s where he scored a hat trick against Sunderland and came off the bench against Newcastle and Man City and scored in both games. One to watch there. One of the strangest stories in football for a long while, is about one of the worlds best strikers if not the best. Victor Osimhen who almost single handedly won Seria A for Napoli last season and they did it by a mile. This league championship victory was massive in the history of Napoli as its the first time since Diego Maradona won the title for Napoli all those years ago.The club owner allowed their manager to leave after winning the title and the new guy is about to be sacked, plus the owner is now under investigation for the way he reported some transfer deals in the accounts, including Osimhen’s. Lets just take a look at some of Osimhen’s stats. This season he played 5 games so far and scored 3 goals. Last season he played 32 games and scored 26 goals with 4 assists. The season before he played 27 games and scored 14 goals and on top of this he had played 6 Champions League games last season scoring 5 times. This week the club posted a pee take out of Osimhen because he missed a penalty. It was done using real footage but added in a high pitch squeaky childs voice making him out to be a selfish greedy buffoon. Osimhen is now taking legal action against the club for an unacceptable social media post. I have a feeling that De Laurentis (owner) is trying to force the player out so he can make at least £120m in profit and bail the club out of what’s going to happen to the club due to false accounting. After seeing the way our players forced their way out of the club it seems funny that a club owner can force a player out. Piers Morgan is already begging Osimhen to come to Arsenal, so you can expect a stampede to get his signature. Chelsea begging him and now the Saudi’s are offering him £40m per year salary but Napoli wanting £173m for him. Speaking of the Saudi’s Zinedine Zidan has agreed to take over at Marseille as soon as the Saudis buy the club. Fingers crossed here, but there are stories that the Everton takeover by 777 Holdings may not be an easy deal. If the Premier League don’t allow it under Fit and Proper rules then Everton could default on paying some bills, then wages and ultimately fall into administration. Remember they’re at a crucial stage in finishing the new stadium and 777 have already bailed them out with £270m for the stadium project. Love to see this club fail and die. Good luck to Jacko: Mark Jackson has landed a new role in Australia with A-League champions Central Coast Mariners ahead of the 2023/24 season due to begin next month. The ex-Leeds Under-23s head coach and first-team assistant to Bielsa and Jesse Marsch joins up with former analyst and Marcelo Bielsa’s translator Andres Clavijo.
Nice to see a player committed to the cause unlike the rats who jumped ship. Georgeinio Rutter shrugged off all the talk of transfers to big clubs and said: "I don't think about anything else, My only dream right now is winning the Championship trophy with Leeds."
There'll be changes midweek. Cooper can't play 3 times a week and I don't think Farke will risk Kamara twice in 4 days given his lack of gametime.
Just checking in to show appreciation for the weekend debate Just settling down for the game, my concern is how poor Southampton have been compared to us for September, the pundits are really harping on about our clean sheets and Southamptons lack
Commentators curse mate, they never shut up about their poor defence and 4 straight defeats compared to us not conceding a goal in the last 4. This was all accompanied with stats of goals on target and chances created, it’s like they were expecting us to win 5-0
The more I think about it the more frustrated I'm getting about yesterday's performance. Everything we did was so predictable and the Saints coach/manager must have had a very good night out last night as all his plans worked perfectly and now his players will think he's the dogs bollocks. All we had to do was start the game by going a bit longer for the first 20 mins and play the game in their half. Instead we couldn't even get to the half way line as their press forced us to repeatedly lose possession and so much for having a Captain and leader on the pitch as that didn't exactly work did it. Now we need two good results this week to make up for that sh*t show yesterday.
Not playing Rodon was part of the problem as Cooper is too slow. We still struggle against the high press and look crap at the back still doing tippy tappy and Meslier scares me when we do. We were not at it from minute one and allowed them to dominate the play. We put more urgency into the second half but with all the fire power we had up front we created little and Rutter was the only one who looked decent. So peed off I’ve stayed away from the site all weekend
