I agree, although we have Stoke, then Rotherham up next. And even if we get a draw at Stoke, and beat Rotherham, we get interrupted by the intl break. Someways something always stops our runs. Well, not the bad runs, but would be good momentum maybe getting 4-6 points, then stopping cos of the intls.
Agree. I probably should have written that in blue. Can see him coming off the bench and getting the last 20 mins against a softened up Saints defence. As l wrote, not a bad first fixture to have.
If Leeds don’t score at least 3 then they’ve had an off day or Martin has improved the shape/system. Whether we can outscore them remains to be seen but they have easily the best attack in the league. I’ll go for another 4-1 defeat but they could score more
The only positive is that Leeds defence isn't great so we should get chances. Just a question of how many we give up!
Yeah their defence isnt that great, then again neither is ours right now, and we look toothless in attack. Still, for some reason I think we are going to click. No idea why, maybe just that we can’t keep being as ****e as we have been.
We will, it will be a replay of the Leicester game but with better quality attackers on the opposition
Leicester we gave at least three goals through sh*t passing. Just need to cut out the risk taking and also stop playing like we're half asleep. They will press and play a high line so it's a perfect game for Charly to come in play some through balls to our speed merchants.
Sheffield Wed got a draw away to Leeds. They are really a crisis club. That is the cheerful thought for today. I will wait until 5 pm to put tomorrows cheerful thought of the day. Plus extra time of course.
The passing isn’t going to change, just have to hope the players receiving the ball are more drilled on where they need to be
Have I missed it or has there been no pre-match press conference? Seems odd with the game less than 24hrs away.
Probably random statements about bravery, possession and no speakie English. Oh, and how his mate Ross is in a good place.
SWed: Although some will say you make your own luck, a rather fortunate win as for all the possession, we didn’t create many goal scoring opportunities. Could have very easily been a draw & then looking at the stats would have been a mockery. Norwich: Definitely a very lucky draw. It was this game that started the alarm bells for me. Plymouth: Late winner but deserved. QPR: Deserved win. Sunderland: Unlucky not to get a pen at 1-0 down but thereafter, could / should have been 6 or 7 nil. Leicester: Comprehensive loss. Ipswich: Very little going forward. Very sorry defeat. Midd: Very little going forward & could have been a heavier defeat. I’d say we’re probably 3 points to the good but without those, we’d be bottom 6. Biggest concern tho is the style, lack of goal scoring chances created & RM’s seemingly obsession with inverted full backs, which doesn’t seem to work for us & weird player selection. I was expecting a top 6 push this year & although early days, we’re 8 in & there’s nothing to suggest any better for tomorrow. I love Saints but SR have a lot to answer regarding managerial selection & termination’s to date. Personally I don’t think they could have it much more wrong. SR are a business & must be kacking themselves for tomorrow’s game.
I actually think Norwich has been our best performance so far. We were slightly unlucky not to win as everything they hit went in. We got some fortune with a soft pen at the end but on another day they wouldn’t have scored 4 and we would’ve scored more
