How would you like to line up for this one and how do you think we actually will line up?
I have not seen a post on anything from Spurcat for ages. Therefore the 2023-24 Paul Stewart cup may have to be declared "void" .
I think this will be a greater challenge than Arsenal, simply because Pool offer more going forward. Salah, despite no longer being as deadly as he used to be, just loves scoring against us, while Nunez appears to have learned where the goal is. Meanwhile Jota, Gakpo and that lad with too many sz combinations in his name are starting to click. This will be our biggest test yet for our defence and Ange's tactics imo. We have more than enough up front ourselves to hurt them, and Pool are vulnerable. But this is the sort of game that could go anywhere and I can see us losing by a single goal in a high scoring game.
Agree with this assessment, but by definition it means that MF will likely be key. If Biss, Pape (& Maddison) can dominate and limit their opportunities, then we can definitely get something from this. If not then we will struggle. Should be an entertaining if not enjoyable encounter!
I think Maddison is key. If he’s injured and can’t play, then we may struggle for goals. If he’s playing, I suspect we could get a draw, or even a lucky win.
We lost many games to Liverpool by being bullied. I don't think our present Spurs team will be bullied by anyone.
I expect a repeat of last seasons' game at Anfield. If Spurs are more clinical this time, they will win.
Liverpool are such a bogey team for us that even our players like to ensure we never beat them, just ask Lucas last season after that superb assist for a Pool winner.
I'd managed to remove that from my memory, thanks for bringing it back in full 4k technicolour glory. That and the Trippier og against Chelsea still cause me trauma.

Training video: No sign of Maddison, but Gil and Veliz are there. Not sure Vicario was in it, either.
I hope we're not taking any risks. The season is more important than any individual game. Johnson's the easier decision though, as we've got a lot of cover.
Decent programme that! Micky vdv seems a great lad. Very intelligent and mature beyond his years. What a prospect! What I particularly like is Anges response to the 'what do you do differently to combat Liverpool'. His focus is on getting the lads to play our game, not worrying about the opposition and when you have the talent available that we have then that attitude can only add confidence.
Solomon in for Johnson is a very nice option to have as the level of quality isn’t too dissimilar, more so now if Gil can make the bench too because if he does get chances under Ange I think he could do very well. Maddison and Son are in that bracket though where their replacement will be very noticeably different in terms of quality. I can understand why we’d be more open to risking them playing than most others.
