Nothing really new, but nice to know that Solak seems to be here for the longterm, regardless of what happens this season.

Thanks for posting this Tom. Like others, l feel it added a little detail to what we already knew. However, what l did not know is that SR seems to be failing across all 3 of its teams in terms of results and not just at Southampton - which is not reassuring in the slightest.

They've barely had the French team for 5 minutes. And they bought the Turkish side after relegation. They reached the playoffs last season, so not a complete failure.

This scar tissue bollocks is, well, bollocks. If we hadn't shifted what amounts to an entire squad over the summer as well as our entire coaching team then maybe I'd buy it a bit, but our team and backroom is essentially unrecognisable from last year so unless everyone we signed has bought into the scar tissue themselves, it's surely pure nonsense.

As others have said not much new there but i did find the reference to the MSD covid loan interesting as there was talk of SR paying it off at one point post takeover.

Repaying a loan is very different from Recouping their losses

Amusing that you of all people feel they are accusing fans of negativity <laugh>

Yeah I agree. The one thing that you can't accuse Solak of is asset stripping or trying to get money out.

If I have a loan on a house I try to pay it off. If I bought my house cash and there is a downturn, I may sell it to recoup my losses elsewhere and maybe reinvest. Two hugely different scenarios and SR are in the first camp.

Not saying they are perfect, but luckily (I think), the actual money man doesn't want to lose his money and is behind the project. Unfortunately, it is the other idiots he employs doing it for him.

Hm. Valenciennes currently 12th in the French 3rd division. Goztepe not doing terrible in the Turkish Super League though.

Fair play Saintmagic, nailed it (even if it wasn't too surprising that his pig-headedness would be his undoing in the PL)

It was just tongue in cheek at DTLW as we had a conversation about this time last year where I said that.
