Cresswell, Shackleton & Dan James were all out on loan last season. Maybe they wanted to and maybe they didn't but that's the life of a professional footballer so you just have to get on with it.

Harrison might come back as he's still well repected for always giving 100% on the field.

The others went on loan because we were in pl and it was a level too high for them, they couldn’t cut it there so took a step down. Harrison couldn’t wait to get away because championship not good enough for him. If he had any respect for Leeds he’d have rolled up his sleeves and had a go at reversing the damage done last season. Sod him

Harrison has also played nearly 200 games for us and always gave his best in each and every one of them.

Not doubting that but he has decided he no longer wants to be a part of Leeds so we move on without him. No interest in seeing any of the summer departures back. Btw if Harrison was as good as some believe he’d have managed something better than Everton

It's far from clear cut in Harrison's case though if you look at the whole picture and not just a knee jerk reaction to this summer.

For 3 seasons Jack was on loan to us from Man City, with each summer an option to buy, which we didn't take up until he'd played well over 100 games for us. That in itself is highly unusual and also not exactly showing belief and commitment to the player. Harrison also went along with this arrangement without complaint although the uncertainty about his future must have been unsettling. Throughout this period he produced excellent performances on the pitch and the club were able to achieve promotion and a wonderful 9th place finish in the PL which resulted in Harrison finally becoming a permanent Leeds player but only on a 3 year contract for some strange reason.

Fast forward a season and a half and Harrison is instructed he's being sold to Leicester (on deadline day) and to get down there for a medical. Again the player complies with the clubs wishes and duly arrives for said medical only for the club to change their minds at the last minute. Following this Harrison is offered a new long term contract and again complies by signing and commiting to the club for a further 4 years when he could have easily run his contract down and either left cheaply in th summer of for a free the summer after.

Part of that contract was an exit loan clause which would only apply upon relegation and for the first time Jack Harrison has decided that for he needs to put his career first by continuing to play in the PL and also receive PL wages. It's a short career and after four and half seasons loyal service Jack was well within his rights to exercise that option considering what had gone before.

Jack Harrison 190 games (4 and a half seasons)
Liam Cooper 250 games (10 seasons)

One is a legend apparently and the other persona non grata.

We currently have Coops, Dallas & Ayling on 200+ games and they are all likely to be considered legends when they retire. Obviously it's not like the old days when true legends played 500+ games or even the massive 700+ that some of the Revie's legends managed but it's the times we live in so it is what it is.

Pablo (167 games) is a legend and he only played the last few years of his career here so different rules now apply.

Pat;p did more in 15 minutes on a pitch with a ball than the others in a month. Ability to win games from nothing and did. When rest of team creating nothing his magic could conjure up a winner

For 3 seasons, Jack was on loan to us from Man City, that gave him more career security than most.
He agreed terms with Leicester, got a pay rise from us, and the declined to accept a reduction on relegation of the team of which he was part of.
Strange that he could only get Everton to take him on.

Watched the Newcastle v Man. City game the other night and I can't help but think that selling Phillips was one of the best deals we ever did, he was abysmal.
Sideways or back never forwards, just walking around like he was lost.

So perhaps Orta was a better salesman than we thought he was! <whistle>
