I am in my 60s, I was getting in because of our lass, her age went over 45 during the covid shutdown so we couldnt do it.
Paid for an agent, paid for the english test, paid for rabies vaccinations for my 2 dogs at the time, had people come around and price up moving all our furniture etc, then covid jumped in :( She even wrote a letter to the Australian PM to complain, the convict bastard never responded :( I have been on 3 holidays there each lasting 3 weeks Hired a campervan each time, I love the place

I am 53 mate but have secured work and because the company wanted me they have put me through the visa 482 skills shortage. there are other ways to get in for example a golden Visa which is expensive as you have to invest something like 350,000 pounds which is out of reach for most people.

My skills at the moment are walking dogs, drinking, reading, fishing and chatting **** about football, is that going to work on Visa 482? Actually I will have a look as our lass wants to get out there as much as I do

Like I said company is doing mine so they are sponsoring me, I work in construction and have a job working FIFO out of Perth 2 weeks on and a week off so will have plenty of time off which is a big advantage for me, So it was a no brainer and I get a 4 year visa

Just had a look at their list of skill shortages, I am thinking about telling them I can multi-task as a footballer or a pig farmer and my name is Danny Graham, it has to work!

had 2 months out there in '99, covered 10k+ Kms, winter time is nice as pretty much a 'nice' UK summertime temp...don't think i would survive a summer but i honestly did not want to leave.

It sounds mad but it was just so empty, could drive for hours and not see another car, fantastic beaches, just amazing. We have always gone during their summer and TBH there were some days when I couldnt go out :) But I think being too hot is better than being too cold

ha ha ha aye the main roads around the country are fairly empty...just avoid night driving and get out of the way for the road trains.
