Wouldn't mind seeing Rusyn and Adil starting Friday.

Going to be interesting how the fit into the current 4231 formation. I still think 433 suits us better

Its not square pegs in round holes though, o9 is a CB now. Whether you rate him or not thats fine but he is a CB now. Hes only really played CB for us since weve been back in the championship, TM clearly classes him as a CB

Im not convinced hes the answer longer term but from what ive seen of all our CBs so far then he def deserves to start

Always easy to highlight areas folk should do better on, i could do that for every player in the team - o9 has made mistakes but hes also done a lot of good things this season

So if Arsenal decided to play Odegaard at CB now you would think it’s normal because after 50 games he’ll be classed as a CB? That’s essentially what we’ve done, taken a mid 20s midfielder and thrown him in at CB. I can dress my dog in a lion costume it’s still a dog though :emoticon-0102-bigsm

So the fact we have one the best defensive xg has nowt to do with the guy at back organising them all and playing at heart of team. Aye okay mate, it sounds like you've made your mind up about him no matter how well he plays.

Hindsight no doubt as it has been referred too is a wonderful thing. Never been a big believer of that as in most cases you have to make the call as you see best at that moment. Me personally I would have gone with the same line up as TM. On the back of three fantastic results what else would you do........if he rested players and we got stuffed then he was going to be nailed that way as well. Can't do right for doing wrong. This team is learning and learning very quickly. Sure we don't like to get beat but it does come with the territory. We are not going to win every game. Once I seen the result yesterday I got off the board very quickly....just cannot be arsed with the nay sayers......the should have done this committee. Team for Friday night me.....I will go with whatever TM decides. He's with them every day of the week and he has shown superb judgement and leadership skills. Not everything goes right.....but there's all a long way to go this season and as I have previously mentioned this season can turn out to be one of the "mother of all seasons" for us. If people want someone if TM's position that never makes mistakes I have two ex wives I nominate for the job. Everyone just needs to chill....we will going up this season as champions....HTL!!!!

Have you seen the Australian play or you just assuming he's better than o9. I saw him get rinsed in the reserves so to suggest he should get into side ahead of o9 shows how blinkered and stupid you are being

Yesterday wasn’t the previous games. Yesterday we looked like we needed an up to speed striker as we have done a couple of other games actually. I’m pointing out the obvious tbh but you can’t say owt. You can be happy and see fault.

In all honesty I don't remember the chances we created as being typical of what a 'finisher' would need ...

... imo we need to relearn how to play with a striker and give him the service.

09's long passing is very good, he will love having Rusyn up front to ping long balls over the top for him to run onto.

If this all comes together we could be onto something very very special

Not sure what any other forward would've done yesterday mind. Burstow made some cracking runs and nobody passed to him. Not sure how thats his fault.

If Odegaard switched to CB and turned out to be as good as or better than the guy next to him then why not.

It sounds like you've got an issue with players switching positions or something. It's a little bit unusual for someone in their mid twenties to play somewhere different but I don't think it's that hard to get your head round.

I’ve seen him play. If our players were as good as some of you think they were we’d be top of the league. The fact of the matter is we’re nowhere near. We’ll be having the same discussion in 3 months time after more mistakes and more watching the match through tinted glasses.

We have 70% of the ball most games therefore if teams don’t have the ball we aren’t going to have a high xGa? The fact of the matter is teams only need 1 or 2 chances to score against us whilst it takes us 10, correct? So either our defence is vulnerable or we’re playing against world class teams..[/QUOTE]

You're a bitter fan, fair enough. Each to their own. Why not try spreading the negativity about and don't focus it all on O'Nien.

I get you don't rate him but no matter how you look at it, if we've got any problems he's not at the forefront.

Pretty sure I said earlier that it’s an exciting time to be a fan and I can’t wait to see the new lads? Yet because I state the obvious about the golden boy who everyone loves because he’s a nice lad I’m a bitter fan. Quality :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yeah you're bitter. Very much so. Sorry that you can't fully enjoy this part of our journey because you've got an irrational dislike of one of our most beloved and key players.

How would you feel if he scored the winner on Friday?

How would you feel if your auntie had bollocks?

A hypothetical situation isn’t really going to change anything so it wouldn’t matter to me. His job isn’t primarily to score goals it’s to stop us conceding. So if he scored he will have made up for some of the points we’ve dropped this season due to goals he’s played a part in conceding..

We will be a better team without O’nien in it. I don’t know why people go on weird if you have an opinion on a player, especially when it’s backed up with evidence. He has been at fault for numerous goals already this season continuing on from last, it’s not as if I’ve just pulled a random player from my arse and decided to have a go. I sent a clip of the highlights against Blackburn where he’s blatantly at fault numerous times ball watching and people decide to blame everyone else.

I’m not saying other players don’t make mistakes but he is the weak link in our team and if we’re to improve then you start with the weaker players and when you have natural CB’s on the bench it just seems bizarre to continue playing him there.

So, who would you play, that is currently fit, instead of O’Nien? And, based on what?

In other words you wouldn't be able to celebrate if he scored the winner. It's a shame you can't see that's a sad state of affairs.

Statistically, factually, however you want to phrase it he's a solid defender at this level. Your opinion is weak and unsubstantiated. Like most similar opinions it's a very vocal one.
