Chelsea have spent insane amounts and look how **** they are. Everton spent several hundred million and look where they are. Money matters, but Good management and sensible planning matter also. Lots of money and clueless owners = ****e.
They'll both be ok because the 3 promoted sides are the worst in decades. Everton will get a fine not points deductions for ffp breach and that'll come after their mega team kicks the can down the road for a good while.
It's fun watching them tumble. Comparatively speaking, even Man Utd have spent loads and achieved very, very little. Our journey will take time but I hope we don't end up like them. If we don't, we can emulate and overtake City, in time.
Why will it put an end to it? Chelsea bought the league plenty of times with Abramovich, but the new owner is clearly a clown who has no idea what he's doing. City have done it successfully, to the point where they've finally bought the Champions League. The FFP means we can't do it in the way they have, but we'll work our way up. Everton have been a shambles for years and it's laughable thinking about them getting any success.
The point I'm making is all the people who complain about teams like ours being bought by rich owners and being labelled "oil clubs" and the only reason why were successful is down to being mega rich is B.S. Money is necessary but only if it's well spent and team is well managed. Chelsea have spent more than anyone and they're ****e, Everton have spent ridiculous amounts and look at them.
Boehly is here because there'll be a new ESL-type movement that comes from Saudi. No secret he has investment from that region, so he knows what's going on. Bin Salman spoke about sport now making up 1% of the country's GDP, he wants it up near 2%.
