Forget pre season next year, just send them to the training camps of on of these two teams... unbelievable effort...
But Ireland had the most possession so that means something or other. Haven’t seen the stats for xTs.
If SA had a penalty kicker, the outcome would have been much different...three penalties and a conversion left on the pitch. It seems to be their Achilles Heel. Having said that, Ireland are a serious side. That was a ferocious war of attrition in the second half.
What a game. Massive crowd and the noise never let up. Interesting to hear the referee explaining his decisions to the players as he went along and the respect these huge blokes showed him.( The same is true of rugby league.) The commitment shown by the players was amazing. And the respect shown by the players to each other was commendable. Football will always be my favourite sport but rugby (both codes) can teach footballers a thing or two about commitment and not play acting and rolling around. After the first few minutes you could see players with cuts and bruises and blood all over none of who had been writhing about on the floor.
Yes. A number of kickable penalties were missed. Were those xCs? A great game and a great advert for rugby union and still would have been if SA won.
xTs and now xCs, my senses are working overtime but I've not yet managed to find a suitable pun. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Might have been asked before but why does this competition last 8 weeks, for 20 teams? Football WC was 4 weeks, 32 teams.
Aus probably going out here with this result, mad to think that Wales are probably only the 3rd (at best) maybe 5th (at worst) best team in the Northern Hemisphere too, Australia are so far off it and have been for a couple of years now.
It's a very physical game - it'd be unreasonable to play more than a game a week, and even in the 6N they all have a break week too for conditioning reasons. Rugby Union in the fortunate position that it can afford to extend tournaments to allow for rest as there aren't overly demanding fixture lists at domestic level and unlike a game like football, the international teams have more power than domestic teams to who players are contracted - there's a few int teams who centrally contract players, like in cricket, too, though not England I don't think.
There is still a full rugby union programme in England during tournaments. The clubs just have to get on with it.Think France is the same.
Cymru am byth actually, and get to **** with that. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
