Match Day Thread Sunderland AFC v Cardiff City FC– Sunday 24th September 2023 - KO 15:00

It's a tough game today. Cardiff have found a bit of form and are playing well. They'll put themselves alongside us on 13 points if they win and they'll be confident.

We have every reason to be confident too, but Blackburn was a tough match and 4 wins in a row is hard for anyone to achieve at this level.

I'm going to say 1-1. I'm hoping we'll rotate the team just a little and the fresher legs will see us through. Hopefully Ekwah is back today to replace Bellingham and Roberts to come in for Ba. Just to keep players fresh and focused.

 

I think Blackburn will have taken a bit out of the lads, and maybe we need to rotate the team for today, we'll need our full squad in the coming months. Cardiff are a bit hot & cold, but they'll be right up for it today, coming to a big club . Another 40k+ crowd will help enormously, but I'll honestly be ok with a point and no injuries today. On the bench today I would expect. It'll be exciting to see what he's capable of. This is the signing capable of putting us over the top in terms of promotion in my opinion. If he's a proper goalscorer, it's going to be a season to remember.

 

Cardiff, apart from the Swansea derby, concede goals especially against team going at them with pace ...

.... if Cardiff try to do what Southampton did we'll beat them.

They haven't won away and I think they'll come for an draw ...

... although hopefully their confidence, at winning two games, will count against them.

People are saying it'll be difficult for us to win four on the bounce, same goes for them winning three ... and they're away.

I’d of changed it up a bit tbh, this is the 3rd game in 9 days and we play again Friday.
With such a big exciting squad I’d use it instead of not changing anything.

 

thought Ekwah just had a knock, Roberts and Rigg on the 2nd half plus Ruysn.

 

I sincerely hope so, and an early one to lift his confidence would be just the ticket. OaU.
