Good crowd there . And another impressive council owned stadium. The only stadium so far not council owned is Nantes.Wonder how many would be there if Italy were playing Uruguay in the RL World Cup in England?

That's been mooted for some time, but not on the back of a World Cup half-time score.

Well done Italy, comfortable in the end. A classic case of a game of two halves.
I still think there should be an A league of 5 nations and a B league of five or six European nations. That would expand the game even more.

The jock lobby would resist that, they'd spend half their time in the B-league!

I think that's what there is, apart from Italy being the sixth nation in the top tier.

Yes but the 6-nations remains a closed shop, which is what the point is I think.

Ah, you mean relegation and promotion?

I guess Italy and Georgia would be switching each year and the Italian rfu would lose out on a lot of money.

My issue with the RWC is the gap between games - I understand it's to allow players to recover, but it drags out too long and loses interest and momentum. I read today that it goes on for 55 days - that's double as long as it should be and I'm sure the 1999 wc wasn't on for that long.

They should have played the tournament in October when temperatures are lower.

There is a full programme of union games when World Cup, Six Nations etc are on. The clubs just have to get on with it.
Love to see football and RL try that.

Certainly worth watching, even if you can take or leave Rugby Union.
