My friend, Mike Geddes. Hull Grammar School, 1966 - 1973. 68 years old. He was intending to retire in October. Some of you will know him. He was a good footballer and went to City with us in the early 1970s. Always fun.
Beryl Williams (93). I doubt many will have heard of her, but she and her husband Allan (The Beatles first manager) opened Liverpool’s first beatnik coffee bar, the Jacaranda, and drove the Beatles to Hamburg for their life-changing first visit. please log in to view this image
So sorry to hear that Mike Geddes has passed away. Was in the same year at HGS & remember him well. A lovely guy who always had a smile on his face. RIP mate.
Had a gander and Johnny Leighton is still going. He played one of the “ tunnel kings”!alongside Charles Bronson.
In a ‘you couldn’t make it up’ way I never knew until the tributes started coming in how instrumental he was in modern rap either. https://www.whosampled.com/sample/2...upt-The-Next-Episode-David-McCallum-The-Edge/
The same John Leyton who had a No 1 single with Johnny remember me in the 60's. William Russell who played another British officer is still alive at a spritely 98.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38301088 A good BBC article about David McCallum. He appeared more recently in the American TV series NCIS. I saw him in an episode which aired fairly recently.
Incredibly versatile actor. Loved him in the TV series "The Singing Detective". R.I.P. Sir Michael. https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2...potter-and-the-singing-detective-dies-aged-82
