I personally didn't want him to play tomorrow, I thought it would dictate the narrative too much. We're playing great football and don't need 'a player with a point to prove' in order to win. Colback slightly took the attention away, on Saturday, and I'd rather that didn't happen tomorrow. Whatever team we put on the pitch we'll give Blackburn a tough game.
Agree completely. Pritchard was like that in the home game v Huddersfield - desperate to score again, so was shooting from all angles instead of passing.
I wonder how Rigg would do alongside Neil, dropping Jobe back seems a safer bet but they are about the same age and it might be time to rest Jobe for a game.
I have pondered that as well. Loves a tackle does Rigg. I do see him as more of an attacking player, but wouldnt surprise me to see him do well in that role, with Neil being ultra disciplined.
Great thread as usual @RTB. Id be happy with a draw Ive no idea what team Id play We can nick it though if we get the rub of the green Hawaaaaaaaay!
Yeah from what I've seen he's more attacking minded than a natural CM, but also from what I've seen he's the kind of player who could play anywhere and do a good job and as you say he likes to get his foot in. Be interesting to see what position he ends up in long term. Mowbray wants to play him too doesn't he. I'd rather see Rigg in CM with Pritchard ahead than the other way round.
Rigg is a canny shout, I think he would be fine alongside Neil. He certainly wouldn't be phased by the challenge
On the BBC website Blackburn striker Ferguson has been ruled out for at least 2 months with a calf injury....every little helps.
Blackburn have scored 4 less and conceded 3 more than Sunderland They've lost 2 of the last 4, we're unbeaten They have a minus GD, we're plus six We've played two of the top three, they haven't Plymouth beat them 3-0 a fortnight ago, we've only lost by the odd goal. please log in to view this image Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Gallagher, who has scored two of their eight goals this season, has been ruled out for up to two months. He was forced off after 59 minutes of Saturday's 2-1 home win against Middlesbrough with a calf injury. "He's an important player," boss Jon Dahl Tomasson told the Championship club's website. "He's a great lad, who has a great mentality and attitude."
Been saying for a few weeks I think he’ll thrive in that DM position I hope he’s given the chance and puts on a show. Big 6’3 enforcer in front of the back 4.
Was laughing at a thread about about JDT being in the top 3 managers in the league according to their fans. No idea how they came to the conclusion or why top 3, but last season they scored about 3 more goals than Rotherham and played some awful football. This season looks nout different, scrappy wins by the odd goal.
It's a very strange phenonomen isn't it, anyone considered young, with an exotic name, is considered 'modern thinking'. As you've said Blackburn are just another hard working Championship outfit with very little chance of a top two finish.
Definitely mate. There was times last season I was frustrated and admittedly in the transfer window I was but sometimes I think how lucky we are because although we’ve had a rough period we’re still a brilliant club heading in the right direction whereas most of those in this division don’t really have much hope of going any further if they do manage to scrape promotion. Like most I was underwhelmed by Mowbray when he was appointed but I’ll hold my hands up and admit how wrong I was. Not only are we playing the best football I’ve ever seen at the club (I’m only 30 so go easy) but I’d argue we’re playing the best football in the league under Tony, 59, from the Boro, who eats revels or Jaffa cakes during his interviews.
