You can't actually create stats though - you can only interpret them. Anyway if we use your stated stat that we are currently 11th, we were 12th after 5 games last year. Based on this I interpret we will finish 3rd this year.
We don't look at fluent as last year and, dare I say it, we don't seem to press as much? Some of thr players might be starting to believe their own hype? Regardless, we need to see where we are come the end of November. Then we can judge.
Problem with playing a high pressing game is that everyone has to be on it. I don't think it comes naturally to players like Tonali, Gordon or Barnes. With Tonali - pressing is not an Italian thing, Gordon - starting out at Everton is not conducive to a pressing game, particularly after Rafa Barnes - think it will be a while before he is onboard as a team player. He may be a little more direct than St Maximin but he doesn't really work for the team. Think we are going to have to evolve from a high pressing game if we don't have Almiron, Longstaff and Joelinton, Willock as first team regulars as they have really been the driving force behind it.
Said this after the Brighton game - 5 games in and on the same points as last year, with a harder run and played 5 of last years top 9 already is a good start. Next 5: Sheff U Burnley West Ham Palace Wolves
These mental gymnastics are hilarious..... we've lost 3 games out of 5 and every game is difficult. It makes no difference what happened last season they've got to win the next game.
Great so there's no need to compare this season with last. BTW this notion was all lies hence we've seen unrealistic expectations returning.
I think we're going to need to rediscover our defensive form last season, as we wont be scoring that many goals this season. We'll score on average about a goal a game, and rely on our ability to keep clean sheets, but remember that Willock and Joelinton were critical to that also because of their defending.,
Joe willock and Joelinton have a great relationship which was demonstrated throughout last season and none more so than the semi final vs Southampton at home. Willock has what the other cms don't which is pace and dribbling. Joe willock is absolutely brilliant.
On average a goal a game? Christ... Must be strong stuff. We've had the hardest start, are not playing great and have still scored 8 in 5. Some of you lot must run on some fair fumes. Mental reading some of this nonsense.
Factual stat. This time last year Munse went to no games and we had 7 points. This year he’s been to no games and we have 6 points. Conclusion - it’s all munse’s fault
