I would reply to Julia and agree with her but the last time I did that on Twitter their AI moderation locked my account for breaking house rules; and when I appealed it they upheld the decision. I just abandoned the account and opened a new one. So much for free speech... where is Elon...
A rare occasion that we agree, whilst my opinion does not come from any statues but pure principles. This is quite an interesting microcosm of what our society has become: trial by social media. I have no sympathy at all with Brand but how is there going to be any sort of a fair trial when the ‘evidence’ against him has been publically aired to the point that no impartial jury can be selected. I never saw the Channel 4 programme but given that they worked in collaboration with journalists from such august publications as The Times, I have to conclude that there is no smoke without fire.
I disagree that the media are “overstepping the mark”. It is there job to expose those goings on that people/institutions would rather keep covered up. The reason that we believe in a free and fair media in this country is to keep the ruling elite in check. Whatever they report might seem good or bad to some people but at least it causes debate rather than subservient compliance.
That's not entirely surprising. It's likely that a relatively small number of men do the majority of rapes.
Who owns The Times? ... is he a ****? ... has Russell Brand ever been critical of him? ... if the answer to questions 2 and 3 atmee "yes" ... go figure ... PS I've never liked Russell Brand, nor find him funny or in any way talented

I wonder if they'll regret their blind support and do a u turn if any of the information gets substantiated. I guess it's possible there's a witch hunt, but they certainly seem to be finding a fair few witches. I reckon Trading Standards could get involved over his claims to being a comedian.
I have to disagree regarding Brand. I took a dislike to the bloke but when I saw one of his shows I thought it quite funny. Loony Righties most likely prefer Mrs. Brown's Boys.
