Korean Sonny Cam... Brilliant for the end of match on field celebrations and the response of key players to Richy. Heartwarming and they look like a really close group of players - including Eric Dier!
The input from Vicario ,getting the Huddle together ,running the lenght of the pitch to join in Kulusevski's celebration
Something told me I didn't want to watch the match live. So I decided to take the coward's way out and watch the full replay after I knew the result...if it was a good result. I googled PL scores at 12:02 my time, 5:02 yours. It read Tottenham 0 | 90 + 13 Sheffield 1 It really is very strange, since the time had updated, but not the score. And I hadn't checked the score earlier. So it usually takes me days to read about a disappointing result. In this case, around 12:30 my time, something told me to check. It is amazing how a second can change your mood.... What I don't know about quantum theory...maybe...fills volumes. But my misunderstanding of it on a basic level is that every probability event creates two universes in which each probability outcome occurs. So it seems we may have wavered between universes there for a minute. Or, more prosaically, you could conclude that when a result changes after the two hour mark, result posting sites may go haywire.
After years of not really giving a toss about most of the players, it's nice to just have that special bond back.
Would you say Ten Hag is the right man for the job at United? I can't say I've been particularly impressed by the 'impact' he's supposed to have had. His picks in the market have been largely overpriced and strategically questionable, either skipping on far better options or buying for positions you are already well stocked in. Then there is the conveyor belt of individual crises that seem to be hitting one after the other. The Ronaldo tantrum, which I think ETH actually handled well. Then Greenwood, Maguire, De Gea, Sancho, Antony. I get that they aren't all in the headlines for the same reason, but it smacks of a club lacking a culture of excellence from the very top. I'm not sure if ETH is the man to create that culture, but a simple change in ownership won't magically fix it overnight. In fact, it might conspire to make it worse than it already is. See Chelsea for further reference. Our next two fixtures will be the real measure of how we are progressing under Ange. I'm not expecting us to win them, but at the very least I'd like to see us give 100% effort and give Woolwich and Pool really tough games by utilising Ange's system.
Nope, he’s found that the job is too big for him. His efforts in the transfer market are evidence of that. He only seems to be able to attract average players he’s worked with before or those who want a final big pay day, when they are perhaps past their best. He’s failed to bring in the right players and failed to clear out the deadwood. It hard to see how he sorts the mess out now. There has been some improvement and last season was far from being a disaster, but Utd are a long way short of being good enough to win trophies. Top 4 looks unlikely this season too. Even top 7 looks a tall order. Last season a few individuals papered over the cracks. At best, that shows Utd have some good individual players, but as a team, they are poor.
Gooood afternoon ladies and gentlemen! We've got a bonus DH AwayDay for you today courtesy of a request by lifetime fan, @remembercolinlee . For Episode 2 of Season 6, DH takes a trip "up norf" to our friends in Sheffield over at S24SU, it took a long while to get there mind, which is ironically well suited to our Blade friends as taking time is a hobby of theirs PRE-MATCH: A win please its my birthday. Unhappy birthday to you. The love in for "resurgent Spurs under Ange" is quite sickening. Hope you throw up. IF Richarlison (barn door banjo) plays he'll get frustrated and see red. Will he now? 5 nil Blades! Wildly optimistic. FIRST HALF: Wes keeping us in this, been outstanding. Does outstanding mean timewasting in Sheffield speak? Spurs getting frustrated. Yeah, no ****! We're trying to play a football match. Wes outstanding so far, Bash is struggling. Definitely means timewasting. Dunno how the ref only gave +3, Wes wasted five on his own At least someone said it... The ref is just poor. That we can agree on. SECOND HALF: Spurs trying to get Wes out of the game Can you blame us?! *1-0 Sheffield* Can we please hold onto this, it is so deserved. Is it ****! Sherwood looks like someone has just run over his cat. Oh that's how he looks in general to be fair. ****ing corrupt Premier League. Imagine us getting 12 minutes. Wes Foderingham. Full corruption coming out. +12 mins. Yeah, right... Wes Foderingham. 12 ****ing minutes?! Corrupt Wes Foderingham. *1-1 Richarlison* Can blow the whistle now *Implying the added time was to allow us to equalise* Not just yet, give it a minute or two... *2-1 Kulusevski* There u go, prem league happy now Yes, a win for football, hurrah! ****ing **** the **** off you corrupt, cheating ****s. If spurs were ahead there'd have been about 3 mins added time. Bastards. ****ing complete and total ****ing BASTARDS. You ok, mate? POST MATCH: I get that we were timewasting but where an earth do you get 12 minutes added on from Ask your goalkeeper. **** Tottingham. Tottenham ****spur. Original, good one, pal. **** this ****. Get us relegated. Byeee. This new extra time rule is an absolute joke Yeah disgraceful that the correct amount is being added on nowadays... Pig sick, I'd rather get done 4 than that. Nah that was enjoyable enough. Watched all of Ange Postecoglou's matches when he was Manager at Celtic. His mantra was....WE.NEVER.STOP. It seems that he's instilling that into the THFC players. It's the BBQ effect. I furious at the soccer saturday clips. I found the email sky gave for complaints & sent in. because the difference is absoultely ridiculous. im more peed off about sherwood than i am the result they legitimately emailed them: We were cheated out of the Premier League last time (the clear goal against Villa that wasn’t given); we were cheated out of the Premier League a few years ago (Gerrard diving for a penalty - no contact - but apparently given because we thought about fouling him); and it looks like we are going to be cheated out of it yet again. Nothing to do with you just being pretty **** then? If we're a goal down to spurs at home are we getting 12 minutes are we fk. Probably because Vicario won't waste 12 minutes... Gutted that the absolute charlatan, the “you’re not my real dad” faced Richarlison actually scored against us. To be fair it was a huge surprise to us all. As an aside, Wes needs to stop ****ing about wasting time. Well it's nice to see someone say it! **** off spurs, **** off "Ange" and **** off the media ****ing themselves to death over them. please log in to view this image
Extended highlights: Weird behind the scenes thingy: We got six bookings, including Perisic and Richarlison. Somehow.
The biggest thing I noticed at the game was that the fans have a connection to the team and manager...for the first time since pochettino. Was so different to last season. The crowd stayed with the team throughout the match and IMHO played a big part in keeping the team going. The reception for Richarlison was fantastic... so different to how it was with Sanchez last season. Final point...I hope those ****wits who racially abused the United keeper are banned by the club
I was looking at a < standard > 1-0. However I suspect that like me, the crowd would not have been baying for blood if that had come to be, as the team were clearly playing all game to attack and win.
I think that the crowd would've been baying for blood, but it would've been the ref's. The boos at half-time were very loud and they were for him. Consistently awful Scouser.
As great as the weekend was, I still preferred the Leicester one. It's just that much more special away from home. I was so happy for the fans who'd trekked up there to be taunted all game by a nothing club who consider themselves from the same shelf as us, silenced in the space of 2 minutes.
