Danny baker, Gary Oldman, Greg Wallace, mighty, Ringo lion, 3 rancid old hags and a dog…. Your boys took a hell of a beating.
That was fantastic. Watched in the Con club in my retro “Trevor Cherry” Leeds shirt. Bit early for Guinness but Happy weekend
Have you noticed we have a good goal difference to, so used to it being a heavy minus, all this is taking some getting used to.
To me the best apointment this season and for the last few is Farke, he not only appears to be building a good team, but ahead of schedule to. Considering the mess he inherited it's quite amazing realy, And us Leeds fans now have a buzz and feel good factor we have not seen since the Biesa days, a long way to go i know, but so far so good.
Meslier - 6. Mixed bag. Couple of dropsy moments first half. Made one standard save, one good save straight after half time. Looked reluctant to get involved in the high balls at times. Ayling - 6. A bit sloppy but bombed forward enough. Mix up with Struijk 1st half cost a needless corner but largely decent. Rodon - 9. Great game. Dominant in the air. Sustained a cut. Read the game well. Stepped in and brought the ball out of defence and has learned to cover Struijk when he goes walkabout. Struijk - 6. A game of two halves. 1st half caused us real issues at the back having a hand in giving away needless corners and not winning his battle against a much smaller striker. Grew in confidence as the game wore on after his brain fart after half time and was dominant 2nd half. Byram - 7. Solid, dependable, helped cover Struijk. Got forward and played well with Gnonto. Not so well with Summerville. Ampadu - 9. MOM by a distance. One stray pass 1st half stops it being a perfect performance. Right place at the right time EVERY time. Should be playing higher level. Gray - 8. Perfect foil for Ampadu. Very mature performance again. Nothing too eye catching but keeps things ticking over and covers a huge distance. Summerville - 6. Needs to do things quicker. Unlucky with a lob 1st half. His runs in to space were good but no end product today. Not his day but it will come. Gnonto - 7. Continuously fouled but ref let everything go. Chased back after a lazy 1st 10 minutes and ran his full back all game. Piroe - 9. Battled well. Linked up well. 2 goals. The goalscorer we've needed for so long. Rutter - 8. Goes to ground too easily. Needs to use the ball quicker but involved in all three goals and worked the defender really hard. Subs. James - 7. 2 assists. Should have scored himself. Anthony - 6. Good energy. Nearly scored. Good start.
What I noticed was happy, chatty young men in the dug out after being subbed and joking with each other in the Sky interview afterwards, a world apart from that toxic, miserable group of shysters that claimed to play for us last season. Initial confidence issues in the game but even so that really was a dominant performance, Farke is going to take this lot to the top.
Afternoon all from a cloudy and windy Spain, What a great result. Unfortunately I didn’t see it as was working at a mates villa, Who happens to be a wall fan, spent the last couple of hours checking my phone and drinking his beer, whilst still getting paid. Happy Days.
I know I’m weird but I’ve been reading a Millwall fans forum, quite entertaining https://millwallonline.com/forum/threads/wall-v-leeds-match-thread-ko-sunday-12pm.54288/page-6
