Based on everything I've heard about Korean shows on Netflix, how many were paid at the end of it is a more important question

My MH has taken a knock over the last couple of weeks
First of all we had to put our dog down due to illness ,he was diagnosed with Leukaemia and by the time it was discovered it was beyond treatment so it gave us time to prepare, when the day came we knew it was time to say goodbye to a faithful family member of over 15 years .he was a Border Terrier ,other owner with young BTs would ask when do they grow up and calm down ,my short answer was never, even in his last weeks he would run hundres of yards to steal a tennis ball , he loved a walk ,his Sunday dinner left overs and a snooze in the sun , he had a pathological hatred of Jeremy Paxman's voice, the sound of police sirens and seagulls on TV and the Hoover RIP Dexter
Last weekend I heard of the passing of a work colleague who I've known for over 30 yrs ,although Trevor did not work local to me we would often meet
Trev was a life long Norwich City fan and an England supporter who had attended Englands last 6 world cups and Euro's he had visited all the league grounds old and new dating back to the 60s
Photo's always taken of him holding up a tatty old 70s Norwich shirt ,my favourite was him standing next to a penguin in Antarctica ,the same trip outside the River plate stadium, security asked what he was doing ,when he told them he was asked if he would like a stadium tour , given a shirt and scarf and a limo back to the hotel as it was late and they thought it would be dangerous for the mad Englishman wandering the streets of Buenos Aires
Trev was as tight as a DA and would go out of his way to save a pound , one trip to see Eng play in Albania he heard the taxi drivers would RIP you off so to save money he took a bike lock , at the airport Trev brought a pushbike off a local for the equivalent of £12 used it for sight seeing and getting to the match and on returning to the airport 3 days later sold it for £9 <laugh>
Trevs other passion apart from family and saving money was the Stranglers , he went all over to see them and I met him at a few gigs
Prostate cancer with complications took him too soon same age as me 66 and he had retired in March with plans for more Eng tournaments Norwich away days and grand children
Lads Prostate cancer is treatable if caught early enough so get checked
    RIP Trevor travel well mate
This was Trevs favourite Stranglers song

Fine words Alfie, and I am sorry for your losses.

Some of you may recall I had this particular fight myself 5 years ago now and I am living proof that catch it early and you can come out the other side, don't forget that the initially its just a blood test - so get it checked out.

I hope having this place to share helps @Alfie Conn. It's good to remember our loved and special ones but it's better to be able to share those memories... thanks for doing so
    Take care

I got the call from The Marsden yesterday. I have prostate cancer and it needs to be removed. I've asked to be referred to UCH to investigate the possibility of cryotherapy, but as the cancer is in 2 parts of the prostate, I'm not holding out any great hopes on that front.

I had the blood test as part of a screening after my brother died of metastasized bowel cancer in May. It's meant that I've caught it at an intermediate level and before it had the chance to spread to any other organs.

Have the blood test...it probably saved my life and could save yours.

It's a blow! I won't deny it. I've tended to see myself as forever young...and then some whippersnapper of a surgeon asks me if it would be a problem if I lost my sexual function...?

I thought that I'm only ****ing 61. It's just as well that I had my 'nice' tablets that morning, as he was to explain the possibilities of cryotherapy and that the cancers aren't in the area that controls sexual function and that the nerves can be retained and there's a 70% chance that sex isn't over for me.

Just to add....I had next to no symptoms. I don't get up in the night multiple times needing to pee, I can pee fine other than starting to lose certainty as to when my bladder is completely empty and peeing slightly slower than for the rest of my life...so don't think that you'll know from symptoms. You may not until it's gone too far..

    We all do, mate! <laugh>

I'm 65 and life is definitely catching up with me. Have avoided the Big C, but generally falling apart, internally and externally.<doh>
I've been going through numerous blood tests and various 'oscopies' for the past 3 years, so would hope anything more sinister would have been highlighted.

I was too young to appreciate Spurs last Championship. I have no doubt that we will win it again the year after I pass......<doh><laugh>

    Stay strong and positive! :emoticon-0165-muscl

Hello Brian, I am sorry to read this, I had mine removed and whilst I had a few a post operative issues once they were resolved my recovery has been excellent and all my functions remain intact!

I wish you good luck and a quick recovery just don't let them send you home too soon, I know that no one wants to stay longer than they have to, but I was sent home the next day and it that was bit too fast.

Thanks to everyone for their good wishes.

I'm also under investigation for likely haemacromatosis (the Irish curse) - does anyone have any experience of living with this? It's a genetic abnormality that causes excess iron levels in the blood and can be fatal if enough iron builds up in certain organs. It's more than likely the cause of the prostate cancer.

    Very best wishes
from me too Brian. We live in age when these things are fixable thanks to modern medics and drugs. I am 10 years on from developing Angina and I am still here. My father, his brother and their father all went at 66/67. I am still here at 76. Now I have gout <laugh> but they can control that too.
As you can see there are lots of people here rooting for you, long may you pee. Talking of which all of us old men should do pelvic floor muscle exercises (keggles) It takes me about a minute every day and now I can pee strong again. It's just muscles.

My mate who's a physio, explained to me the best exercise for the older gent was to imagine walking in the sea and as the "twins" reach the water draw them up with your muscles , do it any time you are standing :emoticon-0148-yes:
