Straight after the win against Fleetwood we are on the road down to Crawley. Our last league win was quickly followed up by a wretched defeat at Newport, and all that followe, so we could really do with taking this seriously - we have a break until the Stevenage game so lets try out some of the new players! Of these, the Udinese lad is playing for the Republic of Ireland U21's so that's one we won't be seeing just yet. The game is on the stream, so no excuse for not seeing it, except the need to charge the batteries.
I actually have that experience with the Premier. People in Spain keep asking me about what I think of this player or that one, and I have to explain very carefully that beyond Charlton, my interest in English football doesn't really extend to the Prem. I do watch Champions league games, but I couldn't name too many players who are playing.
Leaburn just equalised for Charlton, after 20 minutes in which Crawley were the better team and had deserved their lead.
And Tyreece Campbell adds a very well taken second. Miles Leaburn!! Holden must be cursing the Welling defender who crocked Miles, as Leaburn is a different class.
It's hard to find a crumb of comfort in that. We had players missing, but Crawley made 8 changes from Saturday, and were well worth the win. It's even harder to imagine what our defence do on the training ground. We are so easily opened up. I imagine a few managers awaiting interviews with us will be on the line today to withdraw from the race to take charge. Who needs that?
The few scant good points were 8 corners 2 more shots than Crawley 3 goals scored. Crawley had More possession (55%) Greater pass accuracy (89% to our 87%) 103 more passes than us.
