What’s your view of him based on how he came across in the documentary? For me he was the big, and positive surprise. Seems extremely switched on and articulate. He will deliver big things I’m sure.
Thought his sales pitch came across as poor if I'm honest. Grasping at the synergy between addidas sponsoring the Saudi national team and us was cringey
It wasn't a pitch mate. He was making it clear to Adidas (and using the camera to bolster) that a key target is to tap into KSA's population through the Adidas connection. He was also, for those beeling dirty 6 clubs.... wanting to make out that we couldn't do that on our own (Which we could via MBS royal decree of course... but the state is separate ) This is what I mean.... he is slick and on it and knew exactly what he was doing. It's always the sub text you need to look at. He also brought Adidas to Arsenal as well as setting up the documentary deal for them so he's replicate that with us in short order.
I personally thought Eales was really cringe. Grinning all the time like a school kid. He comes across as someone who might roll over easy in a negotiation.
As evident by the Mackem in Milan comment at the CL draw. It makes us look small time. That being said, the senior leadership team have transformed the club. Commercially, we will step up. I liked Silverstone
