And gets 5 second penalty which is nothing, should of been a 10 second penalty minimum.

Leclerc looked like he was going to bin it every time the camera cut to him. That car must be quite the handful

Great drive from Albon, pity he couldn't keep within 5 sec of Lewis.

I'm wondering if the recent tech directives about flexi bodywork and wings has made Red Bull change some stuff and slowed them down slightly?

Eh? Disregarding Max, that was great, and there were loads of overtakes.

I've been moaning about it for years, but it's still complete nonsense that you can ruin another drivers race and only get a 5 second penalty.

It's clear to me that what Lewis did is at least 1 step worse than Russell cutting the chicane and not disadvantaging Ocon much. Should be 10 seconds minimum for causing a collision.

Obviously a big well done to Max and Red Bull. They still have the magic sauce that gives them performance, little drag and somehow zero tyre wear. The others are closer over one lap but miles away on a Sunday. We could be two seasons away from them having a fight, if not longer, unless someone figures it out/finds a loophole.

In fairness, Max this year has reminded me a bit of Schumacher in the 1995 Benneton- he is the one able to turn his car into the all-conquering easy victor whilst his team mate isn’t able to do similar. He is the real deal, he now needs some title fights to really test him under pressure and build his legacy and story, win or lose.

I think the era has been absolutely awful to watch though. Big heavy boats on larger wheels. Not enjoyed the last two seasons at all, especially with the inevitable Sunday stroll in the park, but beyond that I’m so tired of DRS push button overtaking in an era where cars were already meant to be closer following.

Here’s hoping that McLaren and Aston in their new facilities, with Mercedes and Ferrari getting back on track, that we see some of the fights that we want to see next season and beyond.

Good race I thought. Sainz probably had the hardest race anyone has for some time, only about 5 laps where he wasn’t having to defend his position.

Surprised to see anyone complaining today. We saw history made, people had to work to pass, there was action throughout the race - I’m not sure what people are really looking for.

Last thought - this 5 sec penalty needs looking at,

    a) if you’re quicker why not throw it up the inside/outside squeak threw off the track and then drive away. Once the precedent had been established with George, there’s no reason Perez couldn’t just have done that on Sainz and we wouldn’t have got that battle.
    b) as others have said it’s far too light a penalty for ruining someone else’s race

Deffo a clumsy one.. Can't help but think he had the corner won had he not drifted to the line. Sometimes he just completely seems to forget what's around him. Which is bonkers given the overtakes he's capable of.
