I wonder if all the RM lovers are happy with that dig. I know he’s right but that’s just childish in my book.
What he didn’t do is give the context behind that situation last January: we were in the midst of a run of games where we won 3 out of 23 and the Yanks were thinking of cutting him loose. Not forgetting either that 2 of the players we signed for him (Fisher and Darling) weren’t exactly ‘ripping up trees’. On that basis, it is kind of understandable that the Yanks didn’t sanction expenditure….
Southampton transfers out: Lavia £62m Livramento £37m Ward-Prowse £35m Tella £20m Salisu £15m Orsic £2m I make that £171m. Signings in: Shea Charles £12m + loans (eg Downes) & frees (eg Manning). Are they going to have a spending replacement spree in the next 4 days? And while we're at it, Southampton have had an easy fixture ride so far - Sheff Wed, Plymouth, QPR all 2-1 wins. Norwich posed a harder test and they were lucky to come out with a 4-4 draw. I wonder how they would have fared with Birmingham, WBA, Coventry and Preston?
What's wrong with you people ? Piroe wanted away. Waiting until next year would have seen him go for free. Do you think that would be better " business ". Jeez. Doubtless he will put " a few past us ". If he doesn't someone else will, but I suppose you feel that the " Yanks " will be to blame for that as well. Could blame Brexit, I suppose. You have NO say, and NO control over what takes place at Swansea City FC. It's the OWNER'S who have that control, now what part of that don't you understand. " Dumb " customers, perhaps more apposite.
Well, when you consider the run at the end of the season, which you never, ever, refer to, it's a shame they didn't sanction expenditure.
you bored? We are a selling club ! Every time we get a player doing his job fully then we flog him and try to grow another to keep us up. We all know it but don't have to like it ! It's just the way it is in the cut throat game these days. What have the yanks done to put into the team / club in the last few seasons ? Is it just a hobby that they've lost interest in apart from what they can skim off the top ? If we hadn't experienced the highs then we wouldn't moan about the lows so much !
But it’s not your money ….. Seems you can make comments about them spending money but the rest of us can’t …. As for the run under Martin, I wonder who wrote this about Russ: “It has been a great late-season run for the Swans, who were 15 points adrift of the play-off spots and in miserable form in the middle of March.”
“Swansea City has completed the signing of goalkeeper Nathan Broome, subject to international clearance. The 21-year-old joins on a three-year contract – which includes the option of an additional 12 months - and will wear the number 29 shirt for the Swans. England youth international Broome had spells in the academy ranks with Manchester City and Stoke City, having a loan spell at Mickleover during his time with the latter before joining AFC Wimbledon in January 2022. He made 13 appearances for the Dons last season before departing the Cherry Red Records Stadium earlier this summer.” Wonder if he can play Sweeper as well …..
Just saw that. Is this the best we can manage, never rated him when we signed him first time round and couldn’t believhow lucky we were to get some money for such an average player. Just expected a bit more from this so called guru of the transfer market we had from Luton. Disappointing.
