Just been talking to my Sunderland mate about Patrick Roberts. He reckons he is a fantastic dribbler, but doesn’t shoot, rarely gets anywhere near the goal and would be great in a five a side game. Not fussed about losing either him or Stewart. Also thinks we will beat Sunderland tomorrow. He knows nothing!
My concern with both Roberts and Stewart is that neither have done anything consistently. Stewart 27 and Roberts 26 you’d like to think they would’ve shown a bit more than just decent for a couple of years with Sunderland, one of them in League 1. Of course not saying they won’t be good for us if they both join, but they both are pretty unproven for me despite their age. Just have to wait and see and trust our recruitment team who are really good at spotting older, more established players, oh ****
Translation: The right-back's file in Bruges depends on the future of Tajon Buchanan.#Clubbrugge has received an offer for the Canadian but several sources affirm that a last minute departure of TJ is not guaranteed... To replace him, the options considered have not really changed: There is Thomas Meunier, hethere is also Maxime Busi.⏳ Everything will depend on TJ's choice
Interesting because someone else on here works with a Sunderland fan who thought they were both worth 15-20m each
Just a note: Buchanan has been playing as an attacking RB for Brugge, but he's a winger that can cover RB rather than the reverse. So I definitely wouldn't panic that this means KWP is off or some such, he's likely an alternative option to Roberts.
Reminds me of Swansea fans who either saw Russell Martin as the Championship Pep, or thought he was irredeemable turd and were insistent that we would absolutely hate him.
Heavens, so much noise about so little news. Can't wait for this transfer window to close gently and silently tonight.
I like to think the window is actually on more of a soft close, like the ones on the cupboards in the staff quarters I have.
One thing I've always wondered is how many people in the club are capable/able to negotiate and sign off on deals. Some of them take a huge amount of working out and if you've got a day like today where there are multiple deals to and from, some players needing to come from abroad, medicals etc etc it must be virtually impossible to get more than 3 or 4 deals done in any direction if you need the same person/people in the conversation every time. JW's head must be spinning quicker than Moussa Dnenepo on the Walzers.
