Tella looked awful in every appearance for Saints, and is three years older than Mara. I’m not suggesting that Mara is the answer, I’m just saying that nobody would have thought Tella would set the league alight. To be honest, Mara has shown at least as much as Tella in Saints colours.

It will hard to find a winger who is a "Tella replacement", certainly in terms of goals in this division (17!). Roberts and Buchanan don't have many goals in them in comparison.
You’re comparing apples with oranges We have been relegated so their performances in the PL make no difference. We know they are both absolutely elite and productive in the division we are currently in

I don't disagree with that. But they are at this level, not any better than that, so the resource pool to replace them is that much larger. My point is more that there's a strange willingness to turf Mara out in comparison, who hasn't had a chance to perform at this level, which may well also be "his level". It may not. In a Saints shirt, he's not been any worse than Tella was at a level above, so I think we're being a bit hasty as fans to discount him so readily. Basically, Mara is 21 years old. He might "do a Tella" at this level.
Agree to disagree on that. Mara came on Saturday and did not look a level above in the same way that tella & Che do. I think it will be disgraceful if we are relying on mara to score our goals this season personally.
Although I’ve now discovered more posts and it’s even more complicated than that … And possibly more positive It’s gonna be down to the wire though
