Fast forward 11 months, when Che is back in our starting line-up because Wolves have been relegated. I've got zero issue with a player wanting to leave. But agreeing to sign a new contract whilst on your way out!.....
I think if Che and Sekou both go, we'll get someone as well as Stewart. Roberts would be an ace signing, Tella replacement.
Think Roberts predominately plays on the left, no idea if Fraser is versatile and can play on the right
If no-one is willing to pay our fee this summer when he only has one year left on his contract, I'm dubious as to why that would be any different once he's tied down to a longer deal. Guess we'll have to wait and see. An obligation to buy would have been fine. But a mere option to buy has very little meaning. No-one is forcing Che to sign a new contract. If he does, whilst still leaving, that's his choice.
If we really, really want to annoy Sunderland, we should put in a hefty bid for Amad Diallo from United. They need the cash at the moment...and that really would be a Tella replacement.
6 outs and 4 ins according to Pilchards over on SW. Adams Mara Paul Sulemana AbK Another (Djenepo? KWP?) And then we'll bring in: Stewart Roberts Harwood-bellis Another (striker?)
Set up to be a mental deadline day. Hopefully we start swinging our premier league sized wallet about and give us a team that can win the league
I agree. This bloke knows where the net is and maybe he won't start off firing them in left right and centre but I believe when he gets back to full fitness and settles in he'll score. Plus he is of course The Loch Ness Drogba and that's got to be worth it?
I am utterly stunned that after all the years of losing great players that people (not so much here) can even muster a meltdown about Ché Adams. Good pro, accomplished at this level but has clearly reached the end of the road here (in terms of his own perception of his time at Saints) and wants to go. He hasn’t been enough of a success for me to be worked up over it. That’s no hard feelings against Ché, good pro and always gave everything for the team and at least we won’t get left empty-handed by the lack of willing buyers in this window.
