And we're out. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Far too many changes for no apparent reason and a weird sub bringing on Scarlett. Postecoglou's had a very impressive start, but that was all ****e. Another season without silverware, I guess. Oh well.
Forster committed too soon every time but good penalties from the Fulham players, overall Fulham deserved to win
I want to say the silver lining is we’ll hopefully never see some of them in a spurs shirt again but crashing out of the cup at our first attempt with a dog awful selection leaves no silver lining for me. Absolute bollocks that, Ange.
He's too big to get to ground quickly, so he tries to go early to compensate...the results are obvious.
We needed this reality check. So did Ange. If it wasn't yet clear to him that many of our players are simply not good enough, it should be after that showing. There's a long, long road ahead. A few good performances and results in the league haven't magically changed that. We're an injury to Bissouma and Romero away from a severely weakened team.
Only one poster on here calls it that. The majority of us treat the competition with more respect and, it would seem, realism. Sadly none of our past 4 managers have shared that viewpoint.
Mad to think that useless sack could've been in France having a medical today but instead he's getting spun inside out for their first goal and then missing a penalty in the shootout. I'd love to know the logic going through Levy and co's heads when they responded with a "no deal".
A draw away to Fulham is good. But what a poor performance. I don’t blame Ange for rotating the squad. He has to strike a balance in ensuring players get game time and to be fair, we fielded a relatively strong team. But tonight wasn’t our night. We just got unlucky with the penalties. I don’t blame Sanchez at all but why was he 3rd?
We really didn't. All that does is undermine the last 3 games. Totally unnecessary. 4 of the starters were likely never to play for the club again and the abject performance will have done nothing for the confidence of a few others. You ride the highs. You don't self-destruct by throwing away a great start to the season by playing a 2nd (3rd?l string in an important cup tie. There has been so much to be positive about so far, but this was a bad night for the new manager
So true. Tonight stunk of basically throwing a game for almost very little reason, I don't like that at all, especially after Ange spoke about wanting to win every possible game.
Levy has no interest in the domestic cups as the financial rewards are minimal, he obviously tells all his managers to prioritize the top 4, hence all of them rotate heavily in the cups and we end up limping out in lame fashion, we see the same movie every year. Levy is also the reason why dross like Sanchez etc are still at the club, I have no idea what he was doing taking the third penalty but you just knew he would miss, he was diabolical all night and struggles to kick a football in a straight line.
