It was his birthday yesterday. And i just want to shout it out... i miss you bobby. the man is an icon... he is what football is all about. forget the money and the hollywood lifestyle that some of these people in football are looking for. forget the wins and forget the losses. Bobby, the man is what football is all about. its about the passion and love for the sport. ill never forget what you did for football bobby. Thank You
Who doesn't the guy was a legend for Ipswich, England, Porto, Barcelona, PSV, Newcastle and anyone else he worked for.
id like to see some kind of yearly match, for charity, for both bobbys charity and maybe for a charity that helps youth get into football. the legacy he created has so much potential. sadly he is no longer with us, but i think if an academy that could be set up in his honour and carry his legacy not just for the toon but for the whole country could be a huge benefit for football. maybe something similar to the american system of NFL drafts. getting youth into football clubs, train them via the FA and have the clubs pick a talent from the pool. and make a rule so they have to play so many games a season, say about 10 starts maybe more. it would be a good way to progress football in england, and something to keep bobbys legacy alive. if anybody knows a good way to put a system like this in motion it would be great
I remember as a kid I had a PSHE teacher that always said you'd meet some people that just made you sit up and take note - even change your life - so far I've only met two people that have made me do that and he's one of them. Absolute legend. What he did for football is phenomenal
I wish there was an annual pre-season Sir Bobby tournament that we could host, and invite all of his former clubs to take part in. (Although we'd obviously win every year now we're the best team in the world.) Gone but never ever forgotten, RIP Sir Bobby.
