A couple of other updates from the conference....

Back from Nick Barmby's first presser at the KC. Very impressed with him. Looked comfortable and at ease.

Chapter and verse from him in tomorrow's HDM but for team news, Cameron Stewart and Andy Dawson both available at Derby.

Steve Wigley as I said yesterday. Just had to sort out his contractual stuff with Bristol City.

It is expected to be him, though I don't know what we'd have to sort with Brizzle, his contract was terminated a couple of weeks ago.

Wigley was assistant to Iain Dowie, right?

I heard Gary McAllister. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

It's to do with his compensation agreement with them.
He knows it is initially only a short term deal, but he is happy with that.

Wigley was Dowie's assistant, but we shouldn't hold it against him.

A little more info on the injury front..

Waghorn and Pusic won't be available but Basso has trained all week. Olofinjana and Garcia both back in training, shoud be fit next month

Yes, all the players thought very highly of Wigley when he was here, he had some excellent training methods and ideas which is why NB wanted him.

Assuming contracts work the same with managers and all coaching staff, they're due compensation until a month after he leaves (unless it was the club's decision to let him go obvioiusly)

Hey dont knock Steve Wigley. Not his fault he had Dowie as a boss. For those who dont know or are too young to have seen him play, STEVE WIGLEY was a class winger in the top flight in his day. His wing play was top draw and could help all our wingers improve there game. If NB rates him then thats good enough for me.

well Theo linked him with Dowie which did not read well. I agree. Wigley would be a great No.2

Can I ask, apart from a couple of months he spent here under Dowie, how exactly does Wigley come into the AP 'Team Hull' thinking? He's hardly got an affiliation with the club?
