I always associate the WHL pitches of that era with sand , no grass apart from the 4 corners , rolled out like a snooker table until the game started then it broke up like a pie crust
The Chav v Watford FA cup semifinal was like playing in the Sahara desert - just after 4 days of torrential rain!
Hadn't realised Josh Onomah is a free agent and has been since PNE decided not to extend his contract back in June. Quite a rapid decline for the lad after showing such promise early on. Probably never recovered from the humiliation of being used as a makeweight for a player as bad as Sessegnon.
He's had rotten luck with knee injuries in the past, IIRC the first bad one wad when we loaned him to Sheffield Wednesday and he had a couple of bad ones at Fulham too
Boyhood Blade Kyle Walker tries to help his old side out: https://dubz.co/c/6af592 Even by his brainfart standards that's something else.
Algeria midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has signed a three-year contract with Lille that will see him return to the French league club where he honed his skills as a youngster. The 28-year-old Bentaleb was born in the northern French city and trained at the club’s academy after his talent was spotted when he was just 10 years old. After being released, he started his senior career in the Premier League with Tottenham, where he made more than 60 appearances, then joined German side Schalke. Bentaleb also played for Newcastle and Angers. Nothing rhymes with Bentaleb
Definitely something in the water in Wolverhampton! One of the worst I've seen in our colours and couldn't get a look-in when he went Atleti yet becomes prime Dani Alves when he sticks on that Wolves shirt.
Some players are just not a fit for a team Steven Bergwijn's probably the best example of this recently: he seemed to tick every box for a winger who would compliment our frontline under Poch (as he was initially linked in the summer of 2019) as well as a useful asset on the counter that the ubermensch could unleash...and while we had some glimpses of what could have been, it never quite fell into place for him
Gylfi Sigurdsson has signed for Lyngby, which is a club in the north of Copenhagen, Denmark. They barely avoided relegation last season and spent virtually the whole time in the bottom two. He joins Andri Gudjohnsen, son of Eidur, who was born in London in 2002.
Andri Gudjohnsen is following in the footsteps of his dad and grandad into professional football. Can't be too many families like that
Three generations scoring for their national team must be very rare. Even the Maldinis haven't managed that, though competition for the Italian team is much fiercer. Andri's already got 4, so double-figures for all three isn't far away, in all likelihood.
