Diony looked out of his depth, Cornick isn’t that bad. Goal to games ratio isn’t everything, I’m not a fan, just don’t think he’s anywhere near as bad as Diony.
Imo we’ve lost a lot of our high tempo high press game.. it’s probably because our frailties were in our defending last season.. we have a young side, that’s what we should be looking to get back… We need to get some decent performances in or the struggle for the seasons progress will be imminent..
We only had that for a short while, when we played Semenyo and Weimann together up front, as their pace rattled defenders on the press. We have since sold Semenyo and Weimann, while injured now, has rarely been played in his best position for over a year now...
Lose tonight in the same way as we did against Brum we are in for a long hard slog-If he can get the Millwall performance we have a chance of getting something.
Hope I’m wrong, but don’t rate our chances, like you said though if they can manage a Millwall type performance, who knows .
Let's judge that after he has played- #WBA fans reckon he was right peed off being made to play in different positions -play him in his prefered position and let's see what he has got.
How about Engvall, who cost £2.5million and Marley Watkins who cost £1million. They're all as useless as each other. Tbf, at least Cornick can throw a football a long way
I'm sitting here having my morning cup of coffee wondering what I can expect in about 2 hours from now when we take to the field against Hull City. Given that our rebuild so far hasn't set the football world, or me, on fire I have my doubts that I will be watching an exciting win tonight but being Bristol City you can never tell - can you? Early in our season I can only see struggles ahead because as usual we haven't truly addressed all of our deficiencies and still clearly have problems across the park. I am starting to think that paying reasonable salaries may be part of our problem as I have seen some good names transferred on various season long loans to clubs that obviously have more ambition than us. We should never be held ransom by players on the terms of their employment but at some point we need to step back and ask ourselves what the heck are we doing so badly where others thrive? Looking at the upcoming spate of matches over the next 3 to 4 weeks I don't see any easy gifts coming our way and wonder what the state of the club might be by mid-October? I just hope we are up to the tasks ahead and should things go as badly as I believe they might, then what next?
Makes sense, least disruption. I’m not convinced with James and Williams as the double pivot, they’re a bit slow and too defensive imo, that said it may work away from home, I hope soo
The next 90 minutes or so will give us an indication of where we are in our slow progress. Fingers crossed but my head says no, not this time out.
I am just watching the pre-amble prior to the start and it has shown some lethal finishing by Hull City so I hope we can counter that threat, but our coverage will need to be at 110%.
