It’s what Russell Martin said when Tino left. And Bree didn’t even make the bench of the first game of the season and was awful in the cup match. I don’t think Martin rates Bree at all and he could potentially go out on loan late in the window if there is any interest
What about the rumour on Ugly Inside that Lavia could be returning to Saints on loan for a year if he doesn’t settle at Chelsea. Anyone think it might happen - I don’t
Surely he will be given at least 6 months to settle. It is more like a potential option for next season if he doesn’t settle AND we get promoted. It is just nonsense based on him not making the bench of the first game after he joined
I believe that talk was started by ex Chelsea player Glen Johnson, who said he could see it as good playing time if he doesn't break into the Chelsea first team. Personally I think he will be fine at Chelsea
My source on Che says he defo isn’t going to Everton. Their offer to him isn’t as good as Saints new contract offer and they can’t afford the fee down payment. Would have considered Bompey but they would pay the fee. He is settled in the area and has a new young family. The only threat is potentially Palace who are sniffing around as he wouldn’t have to move the family
That's not a rumour. That was an opinion by Glen Johnson that a loan move might materialise, and the rags picked up on it and ran it as clickbait.
Disappointing not to sign him, to be honest. Partciualry if we now lose Che. Hopefully we'll keep Che and this won't matter.
Sounds like we were never really 'in' for him. Possibly a candidate if Ché had left by now. But, between Russ comparing Arma's traits to Piroe's and then us not making a bid at any stage, it seems like we just didn't feel like he was what we needed. Maybe explains the Stewart/Shankland links (as they're definitely a different type of striker).
