We will sign players for both positions. The question is... how good will they be?

Well, Nathan Wood seems likely I would say and he's rated highly.

He's had a few reality checks in the past couple of years.

Note to Dyche and his inept financial goons, which part of £15m don't you understand?

I saw something the other day suggesting they were either offering 1m or 2m up front. Which is mental on a 15m deal

Do Leeds play with two up front? Or are they off Bamford / does he still have injury problems ?

They hate Bamford, the fans anyway, no idea about the club

Another reason to not sell Che at any price.

£12m seems very low. Especially compared to what they want for wood. I’m aware Piroe only has one more year and wood has 1+1

Interesting that we never even bid though

If we've opted not to bid for Piroe then surely either the talks with Everton over Che have completely collapsed or we've identified a striker we like more than Piroe that we're going after.

Of course option 3 will result in a nuclear style meltdown on here, Saints Web and any other Saints related social media. <laugh>

I can’t see that the club can let Che leave under any circumstances now.

I know none of us are scouts exactly (I think), but there is no obvious candidate to replace him now, with no link to a striker that on the face of it would be better than Piroe or Che in the Championship and in the final week of the transfer window.

I mean the argument for signing Piroe is extremely strong as is, never mind in the event Che leaves. So the fact the club have chosen to allow him to go to a direct rival suggests that either there is someone identified that none of us have considered, or Che is staying.

Worth a gamble for the lower table Prem clubs at that price.

You’ve kind of said it though - there are no obvious candidates to a bunch of non scouts

I don't get the fascination with having to replace Che (if he goes) with "X" player etc. There are good players throughout Europe who would do well in this league.
