Premier league sides can only loan in two players a season, so they’re less likely to go for a young unproven player at the level and also if they’re a loan then you could argue they would be more likely to drop them from the team and not invest much time in them and then the loan gets wasted for all concern. A bit like Bednarek to Villa. A buy back is more costly should you have to buy the player back, but at least Sheffield United have an added incentive to make it work and give Archer the chances he will need. as far as restrictions coming in, I thought I heard there was going to be a limit to how many players you could loan out at any one time. Maybe they’ve ditched those proposals.
Again - if a fee has been agreed and it is just down to structure we should surely be lining up the replacement. It doesn’t sound like it is us stalling for a replacement either. Odd situation
I'm 99.9% certain that we will have contacted the targets we want to replace Che. That doesn't mean we should have heard anything about it via the media, though. The silence doesn't mean inaction. Will be sad to see him leave. Everton are in a real mess and I'm surprised Che wants to leave for them. Obviously I'm biased but I really think he needs a season where he's scoring regularly. He's on for 46 goals if he stays with us.
Hopefully we have someone lined up in the wings ready to sign, and when Che does go we will definitely miss him.
Well, I guess they did agree that the fee would need to total £15m, they just didn't agree the payment structure. But yes!
Agreed. The longer we leave the less likely we get our primary replacement in. It doesn't sound like Adams has refused to sign a new deal either so I'd rather pursue that route.
Me too, He is a known quality to us and you'd think he'd only improve too after the window closes and signs a new deal (Not saying he will though)
You’ll know more than me, but the agreed fee all seems to be coming from ElBobble and not widely reported elsewhere. Maybe it is all correct, but these seemingly very protracted deals are most likely twitter journalists trying to drag out interest for their podcasts etc
He needs to take a good look at what he might be heading for. A Club in crisis financially and already looking like relegation candidates (I hope so!!!) too.
He is a "model" professional footballer being pushed into a tough choice between football and profession. Best of Luck whatever you choose Che.
I don`t see it that way - he`s not being pushed into anything. His options are limited however - limited by the extent of his talent. I want him to stay, btw.
Maybe you're right but I suspect that there will be pressure coming at him from all directions - his Agents, both Clubs, his Partner, the Dressing Room even us lot the Fans. Tough Choice even for "wise old heads" like ours.
My big concern with not getting the fee up front for Che is that Everton almost certainly will go into administration and the remaining fee will be lost with all the other creditors
They really are in a hell of a mess….. whilst I’m always up for watching another club suffer a bit …. Especially the Blue Few…. It’s got the potential to get very, very messy at Goodison…..
