I’ve got to admit that even though I often get frustrated by this thread being full of puns rather than rumours this one is very good
Pretty sure when we got Martin the three players people mentioned were Piroe, Grimes and Wood. And that was probably leaving out Downes because he wasn’t at Swansea anymore Would signing Wood mean Swansea will be even more unwilling to deal over Piroe (if we are even interested).
For some reason I just got a flash of Family Guy and the Free Tibet sign and getting on the phone to China and saying “that’s right - all the tea” Perhaps we could get Leverkusen to tweet out that Southampton FC are indeed by far the greatest team true world has ever seen?
Twitter rumours suggesting this is very advanced. CM/AM so presumably puts an end to McAtee rumours unless he is for the B Team (possible but unlikely) or there are more first team outgoings in this area. I’m thinking maybe Stu given his wages and squad space (not a starter)
I’m definitely intrigued as to how highly priced central defence recruits impact Bednarek. He’s not going to want to sit on the bench but neither is Wood. But if ABK is also on his way out we will also need someone to be a backup who isn’t Lyanco. Someone prepared to join on those terms as well
I followed the Wood rumour to a Swans message board. That was fun! They have gone from fake joy to get an "upgrade" on Martin, through to arguing about how awful his replacement is in the space of two weeks! Judging from that, I will take the consensus that "Wood isn't that good anyway" with a pinch of salt
I was reading an article about premier league clubs top transfer needs and near the top was Everton with a striker. Is Che Adams really the answer to their question? We knew he wasn’t our answer at the beginning of last season so why would he be Everton’s? I am not aware that they create significantly more and/or better chances than we did last year
