If this is true, this is another example of one of our players picking up an injury then 3 to 4 weeks needing surgery, is it my imagination or does this happen a lot at this club
There does seem to be a lot of delaying surgery as long as possible, so players will "return from injury", play through a lot of pain at 70-80% of their actual ability, and then go for surgery anyway when it becomes apparent that they are playing like their boots are set in concrete. From memory I can recall this happening to all of Winks, Skipp, Sanchez, Son (twice) and Dier in recent years.
The obvious difference is Bryan didn't play through injury which necessitated surgery, which was a standard feature last season
Without the stats for all PL clubs,, over a reasonable period of time, you cannot say whether Spurs are particularly bad on this front.
Last season we certainly were, given we had Sonny, Romero, Dier and Lloris playing through injuries, which exacerbated the injuries and left them requiring surgery Wouldn;t be surprised if a few other players were in the same boat, either - Kulusevski chief among them
With all the games players have to play these days is there any wonder the bath chair business is booming !!?? He says chuckling......
I'd say this confirms it, but Marca had a photo of him at the clinic holding one of the clinic's tshirts yesterday...
please log in to view this image I think Gil has a lot of potential, but I'm not sure how he's going to get game time. His best position is left-wing, so he's up against a large group of players. Even if we assume that Son plays in the middle, there's still Solomon, Perisic and Johnson.
Sad news for him/club/country. From the Spurs viewpoint, very bad luck to have two international players getting ACL injuries in the same time period.
Really unfortunate timing for us and a devastating setback for him. It could end his career, given his age. Maybe back to Croatia next season, though? His delivery on set-pieces is incredible and it's a shame he was misused last season.
That’s a massive loss… only just yesterday I said how he’s been playing like the player we all knew. What’s worse is not only have we lost one of our best/ if not the best squad player but he’s also the very person who was likely to play an integral part in getting anything out of Richarlison. It’s now potentially a double blow.
Such a shame. I was always confident that when he came on to the wing, he would create chances and I was looking forward to seeing more of him playing attacking football with Big Ange at the helm. He has also been mentoring some of the new guys so his presence will be missed off the pitch too. Best of luck to him with his recovery.
i was just thinking this. TBF, PNP called it regarding perisic being an asset to Richarlison. Is there anyone else from the academy we can promote who offers something similar?
The best bet is to get Bryan working on his crossing I mean we did have somebody with a wand of a left foot in the academy in Harvey White, but we sold him to Stevenage a couple of weeks ago
