If you were clinging on for dear life and it was a choice between Alex Crook or Tom to say “Don’t worry, you’re going to ok” - Who would it be?
If Adams scores 20 goals, we don't go up, and he goes on a free next summer people would go crazy. If Che is adamant on going then I think you have to move on.
Everton? Everton? ****ing Everton. We had to keep him ffs. This is a bit of a joke decision in my opinion.
Profit over promotion. Good to see where the priorities lie, anyway. We did not need to sell. We are choosing to. Utterly ludicrous.
You can only assume that Adams is making it very clear he wants to leave behind the scenes as keeping him for a year would obviously help our promotion chances, and a year minimum in the PL is worth more than £15m
Why is it ludicrous? Do you know it’s all about profit over promotion? Club have said they are building a style with players ready to play in premier league when we get promoted again. Che along with the rest of them was pretty dreadful last season and a lot of fans have forgotten the chances he missed. Ok he’s scored in the championship and had looked good, but so has Armstrong and the likes of Barnes at Norwich. If he doesn’t want to be here then let him go. We will see as well in next 2 weeks about the profit over promotion. If we buy no one then fair enough. I am not going to have a meltdown over Adams leaving and cannot fault Wilcox and co so far this season.
Or SR are selling absolutely everyone they can make a profit on, to recoup their minging transfers last season Given the level of reinvestment from the player sales so far, I know which one is more likely
Because we do not need to sell him. So yes, they're choosing to sell him to get the money in, over keeping him (and him contributing loads of goals) for a potential promotion push. It's too much of a gamble now, I think.
I think a significant section of our fanbase can be absolute spanners when things aren’t going well; but then I look at fans of other clubs and realise how reasonable ours are in comparison
Again, we just don’t know what is happening behind the scenes. Anyone with a bit of knowledge about football knew that we had 10 or so players who were going to be in demand once we went down, the players will all want to play in the PL and earn PL money. We were always going to be rebuilding this year with a lot of outs, I’d far rather sell players who don’t want to be here than keep them and risk upsetting team harmony. Squad togetherness is a big factor in a promotion season Wilcox or Martin said earlier in the summer that we had targets but couldn’t move on them because of our stance on asking for high fees meant we didn’t know if those asking prices would be met. Now they have we will have to see what happens in the next 2 weeks
Sorry, but my stance hasn't changed and I would absolutely sell Ché for north of £15m. Everton is a stinking career move though. Good luck with that.
