Couple of things I noticed today is just how scared other teams are of Roberts. He may not have had a huge impact on the game, but the threat is always there. If he added goals to his skill premier league clubs would be climbing the walls to get him. Second one was how well Dan Neil played without the ball, did the 'boring' not highlight reel stuff really well I thought
Agree thought Neil was excellent. He frustrates at time because he has a mistake in him but he has potential to be world class
Neil n ekwah for me were different class today, neil does so much of the dirty work for us but is one of the 1st to be dug out when we lose Yes he has the odd mistake in him but think most championship players do. Quality player, him n ekwah have huge potential as a partnership n individually
Much improved all over the park today, although we were so slow in possession in the 1st half. Second half was like a different team and that has to be the standard going forward Rotherham are ****ing dreadful. One of the worst teams I've seen live
Think it was too easy for him at times n he then got sloppy. I liked that he was more discipline n cover ground well in front of the defence most of the game
He played well today. I liked it when he started running ahead of the player he'd passed to ... ... really rattled Rotherham.
Just back from the match, routine win which was expected but a few things I took from it which I’m sure everyone won’t agree with; Bellingham took the game by the scruff of the neck and looked to make things happen, something the other 2 midfielders never seem to do. Neil was better today, got himself about and recovered the ball plenty. Not making the decision any easier that 1 of the 3 needs to be dropped, which is blatant. We have so much of the ball but there’s no creativity it’s just sideways passing. Against better teams we’ll get punished. Dack practically playing in front of the back 4 is a huge red flag. Basically showing how bad the midfield are that he’s having to do this to get the ball up the pitch. He was brilliant today. Covered most of the pitch, dishing out instructions. One of the midfield 3 simply has to drop out for Hemir. We might aswell have a 12 inch knob and no idea how to use it with those 3 in midfield.
Wasn't able to watch the 1st two games today was the 1st time. Generally I was happy to watch. Some great play, especially last 15 minutes of the first half and most of the second. It's obvious the squad is still getting to know each other, and some times things just weren't working out as they wanted. Give it a few more games, and we'll start getting stronger and better imo. Dack and Jobe still finding their feet and best positions in our squad and for our style of play. Jobe only 17, and though most say he's a midfielder up till now, he might be suited as a CAM more than a box to box. And he definitely didn't seem out of place up front either. Ekwah still switching off at times, hopefully that can be coached out of him because he has bags of potential otherwise and already a very good player. Hume needs confidence to have a crack at goal. Reckon he could have scored one or two if he had taken the shot. Roberts and Clarke, what to say. Still causing chaos and opposition don't know how to cope at times. Everybody else did their job and did it well. Ref shocking
Dan Neil has been superb season so far, just some knackers rather point out he pulled couple shots against Ipswich than talk about this.
Only thing for me with Neil is that nobody can tell me what his best position is. He has talent that’s not even questionable but where does he play where he stands out? If we need to drop a midfielder for a more creative midfielder what does Neil do to warrant his place in the team over Ekwah and Bellingham? Bellingham looked head and shoulders(not literally) above the pair of them today.
