I'm all for it in theory. In practice Emerson has looked much better than Porro. I wonder what the odds are that Porro will be at fault for a goal? 1:1 seems about right. Besides, with Emerson out and Romero perhaps less than his best, who will score for us?
Would prefer Emerson than Porro for this match. Think Skipp might have provided more grit in midfield than Sarr too. Was also hoping Son didn’t start either as he shouldn’t be considered an automatic starter. He hasn’t earnt a starting place in my opinion. Still, looking forward to seeing the team perform.
On paper it seems we picked Porro so we have pace for when FC Incel try hitting us on the counter Likely explains Sarr starting too, with him dropping deep so Bissouma can push up
Ange really is very much in that “****ing ‘ave ittt!” bracket. Only concern is where the goals are gonna come from, no one is really on form/ is good enough. Here’s hoping old skool Sonny turns up, definitely need him to, whilst there’ll be an onus on Maddison to chip in as well. Pretty gutted though as I’m missing most of the game due to work. I approve of changing the team like this though...looks like we have our fastest players on the field in defence and DM which matches Man Utd's strengths.
Another interesting starting XI. For the first home game I feel there is a sense that the manager feels that the crowd will get right behind the team.
