I think there should be limitations. I obviously can’t answer that in detail. I just don’t support the ‘be evil’ approach and I think it should be done by consensus with our partners not the self obsessed little Englander approach. We have never taken more than others we are just self obsessed so a fair share is right. People will only stop travelling if we improve social conditions and safety and we can probably never ever guarantee that, so we need to work out how best to collectively support people otherwise. Creating an environment where tolerance is reduced and fear and threat is increased is just plain wrong and it’s only being done for power.
But I would have thought 90% of people think that but nothing is happening, So what do you do? Let everyone in ?
I’m not anti migrant ffs,we need migration we benefit from it,in my job i have met and become friends with people from all over the world who are the kindest and hard working people you could meet, but i draw the line at this channel crossing fiasco and nobody will ever convince me they are nothing but economical migrants taking the piss
So if nothing will convince you otherwise there’s no point reading anything anyone posts on here or reading anything. Good day to you
Today's list of questions, rolled over from yesterday. Where does this lunatic right government sit in the list of historical lunatic right governments. How many illegal immigrants is too many?
I’m beginning to wonder if these are the people traffickers that they are supposed to be trying to get rid of. Can’t think of another reason they are doing f uck all.
Labour have made the tactical decision that they can actually have the same manifesto as the conservative party and win by virtue of not being the Tories.
Who the **** cares about u-turns ! If I decide to do something in the future, then something happens/is discovered in the interim period that makes changing that decision a better option, I'd be right to alter my plans. What's wrong with that Trying to 'score political points' because of u-turns is bloody stupid
If the circumstances change, during the lifetime of a government, it would be idiotic to simply plough on with how things used to be. In the past year we've had three PMs all of whom moved the goalposts ... ... you can't keep kicking in the same direction through being blinkered to the changes.
Well what a surprise 'Tory fury as ministers axe key levelling up pledge to move civil servants from London Offices in Birmingham and Newcastle said to no longer align with strategic requirements.' Toby Helm Political Editor Sat 19th Aug 2023 10.26 EDT
