Tommorrows Bet 365 4/1+ offers switches to the NH scene for the first time this week, both races are at Market Rasen and are the 14.20 which is a 2m 6f, Class 3, Handicap Chase with 10 Runners and the 14.50 which is a 2m 4f, Class 4, Handicap Hurdle with 10 runners. My selections over the jumps so far this season have been at best erratic, so any advice from those in the know would be welcomed, however, in the 14.20 im going for the 10 year old French bred Chaser, LE BURF 10/1. This seasoned campaigner would have needed his first run out this season when he was a distant 10th to pretty smart types. He drops 7lb for that race, which sees him running off a very attractive mark of 113 and drops considerably in Class , last year he was placed in Class 1 Company off a mark as high as 135 and has won in similar grade races off 117 and 126 and looks an attractive EW proposition. In the 14.50 BRIDLINGTONTOBYGONES 16/1 is my selection, i recall watching this one win a bumper on his debut an dthought he would make a smart hurdler, however, his bumper form has not translated to to hurdles yet. Tommorow he is stepped up an extra furlong which suggests to me that he has been working better at home over longer distances and that there may be a change of tactics and at his bets is more than capable of winning or placing here on ground that will suit.
Not sure I've got this right, but I think that horse of McCain's that Famous used to rave about, is out Thursday - Storming Gale in the 1.50 at Market Rasen. He always said it would be a proper chaser. 7/1 on the Sporting Life tissue
Found Fammy's threads on Fugees: After seeing Peddlers Cross win his point to point and earmarking him as one to watch out for and the success he has achieved to date i thought i would tell the board of another Point To Pointer i saw winning and who this season is due to race under rules. He also is trained by Donald Mccain. His name is Storming Gale. He made his debut in a 4yr old Maiden Point on the 7th March this year over 3m.Where he was mid division most of the way before staying on to take 4th. 2 weeks later he reappeared at Lismore again over 3m.He made most of the running that day and ended up winning by a distance. He is a very interesting recruit to race under rules and will proberly be seen out in a bumper dec time as Mccain reports him to be quite backward. But he is definitley one to keep a eye out for. --------------------------------------------------------- And Storming Gale wins on his debut under rules over 2m4f at Ffos Las. Travelled well hit a little flat spot down the back where jason had to niggle away for a couple of strides butv soon came back on the bridle and won with a fair bit in hand at the end.Has a lot of growing into his frame to do but this horse is gonna be a beast when he sees a fence. 2012 RSA winner ---------------------------------------------- Had a dabble tonight as I can't get on betting sites at work. Couldn't get a price so on at SP - hope it drifts like a barge
Oddy, 2011 Form for Storming Gale. Good spot indeed Oddy...believe he won at 6's,or something similar,on rules debut..think I actually backed him after being convinced by Fammy's persistent positive overtures. You fancy Rathlin again tomorrow?...believe we both tipped him up on his last start when he blew out tbh.Currently trading at 3 on BF.
Evening chaps posting from ps3 here as laptop motherboard decided to blow up so will not be around tmz. Festival winner IPSOS DU BERLAIS is out tmz backed at 20s for Albert Bartlett and a nibble at 25s for neptune. Good luck all
Evening all. Just one for me REYAMOUR Hereford 1.30. Debut for Alan King. Form on soft - finishing well over 12f. 'mon the REYAMOUR...
anyone found a market on the reason Fallon gives for not turning up at the BHA on Monday? I fancy "Sir, I was abducted by aliens, and my phone battery was dead"
Morning, all. Fair days sport today and I'll nominate one in the 'lucky last' at Hereford. In fact one that could, and I do mean could, be a historic winner. First Act (4.00 Hereford) - this one just might provide fledgling trainer, Tom Symonds, with his first winner, you know. She is a nicely bred mare as her half-sister was a dual winner and her dam is a half-sister to a French Oaks winner. Meanwhile, First Act ran with great credit earlier in the year when a close 4th, in her sole outing to date, in an Irish point-to-point. Bought shortly after that run by Paul Murphy she represents a chap who has had some notable winners over the past few seasons with Mr Henderson (where Tom Symonds was, of course, until recently assistant trainer). This won't be an easy race for First Act but given her breeding, form in the pointing field and connections I would expect her to run very well this afternoon. Quotes of 25/1 re her chances are quite frankly Generous with a capital ‘G’ and I would put nobody off a little ‘each-way tickle’ on this mare this afternoon. Good luck all.
Apparently, Montbazon has been tipped up in the ‘Racing Post’ today for the Supreme Novices (nice to see I have some regular readers amongst their staff) and so if you want that 25/1 I would advise getting on sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, Wymott is being backed for the Hennessy as if there is no tomorrow.
Not at 15/8 Dex especially with another one of those "Sizing" horses in the race (Santiago this time) and that old rogue Tony Martin saddling Pires
Morning all... Just a quick one as i look through the cards... I notice that for the 3rd day running we have a 3 runner Novice chase, 1.40 @ Wincanton, and we have another short odds on fav, Rith Bob 8/11... With this in mind yesterday we had Tatispout win a 3 runner race @ Warwick... Tonic Mellyese fell, 8/13 fav... Tuesday saw another 3 race runner @ Folkstone with 16/1 Mister Darcy winning after 1/7 fav Bears affair unseated AP at the 3rd... Will the 'Novice-chase-odds-on-fav-fail-to-win' hoodoo strike again today...??? ps - Notus De L Tour won a 3 runner on monday at Plumpton.... Odds - 4/9... it dosnt always strike...
2 for wayward with his 365 bets Posh Bird Beat the Shower not sure of prices, im busy honest,,,,, will come on for the runs today but both have decent place claims im told Stay Frosty
Both Bet 365 4/1+ choices tumbling inwards LE BURF as low as 4/1 from 10/1 and BRIDLINGTONBYGONES 8/1 from 16/1, hopefully thats an indictaion of the yards thoughts on their chances.
This will be interesting if Rathlin should win the 12.40 Thurles...When Bet365 changed their price from 7-4 it went to 13-1 ...Like a true opportunist I quickly backed him at this price before it changed to 13-8! I've a bet confirmation of 13-1 so it'll be interesting to see, should he win, will I get paid at 13-1... Just hoping he wins now! Anyone else seen, or taken advantage, of seemingly mistaken prices coming up as shows?
