The number 16 shirt is still available and its last occupant has made it known that he would come back - just saying! :emoticon-0105-wink:

Friday morning announcement, straight in the squad for Saturday without any training and bags a brace on his debut before coming off knackered after 60 minutes is my guess

ok lads, while we all feel the current frustrations we really have to take a step back, the policy is not going to change for now as the club is really just getting back on it's feet ( we all know the recent history) so the owners are doing exactly what i would want them to.

always make sure you have solid foundations then everything going on top has a secure footing and easier to correct if there is a blip along the way, i honestly believe that KLD has enough to buy a couple of 10 or 20 million players ... but then they will probably ask wages to match and once we spend that money, every selling club will want at least the same and every player will want a matching wage, a 25 man squad getting even 1k per week increase adds around 1.3 million to the wage bill so a 'decent hike' for them all will not be sustainable at all and this is where the clubs current policy is, aiming to grow some talent and giving them game time with the aim to sell on meaning a little more to spend and some better wages.

    or

we do as some suggest and pay 10 or 20 million for a few players and end up with mercenaries, drop into the 4th division and bankrupt...of course it might not wotk out that way, but if there is no reason to run the risk, why do it?

The whole debate started because the club APPARENTLY isn’t spending anywhere near what it can but as per if anyone isn’t rimming the club and the hierarchy or has a disagreement with the way somethings playing out it turns into a **** slinging contest. You can say 9 positive things but if you dare say something negative that once you get it rammed down your throat that we’re in a better position than we were a few years ago.

That’s a given but if that mediocrity is what we’re going to continually judge our current status on then we might we aswell just call it a day and be happy with being a mid table championship club for the next 5 years. People are mentioning other clubs who’ve apparently done it how we want to but those clubs took over 5 seasons in the championship before getting promoted to the PL - we have 3 seasons based on KLD’s “ambition” and we’re already into the 2nd.

One of those clubs relied massively on loans (Brighton) and the other (Brentford) reinvested a lot of money from player sales after 4 average seasons finishing between 9th-11th before finally getting promoted.

Surely if you make that promise you do so on the basis you’re going to try and fast track the club because if as quoted “we don’t need to sell our players” and the owner isn’t going to dip into his pocket then that’s a massive ask to do without utilising the loan market to its full potential and filling your squad with loanees which we won’t because we want to develop our own players.

I don’t think it’s an unfair ask of fans to want the club to bring in a few quality players who can hit the ground running or ambitious loans.

Brighton's model has been going since Poyet was in charge and before long will be obsolete. Teams only get a year or two as 'the example' and then someone else adapts it and overtakes them.

Sunderland join chase to sign Glentoran teen prospect

Glentoran youngster Rhys Walsh could be set for a big move across the water.

The 17-year-old is on the radar of several clubs including EFL Championship giants Sunderland who he is spending the week with

The Black Cats are keen on the teenage forward after watching his climb through the ranks at the Oval https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/sport...r.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar

Seems very fitting to the type of talent Blackburn have been picking up under Harvey
